Wanted urgently: BX diesel auto

Post by detheridge »

Hi folks, my wife's TXD auto is terminally ill with leaking engine bearings so its got to go.
Has anyone got a TXD or turbo diesel auto to go to a Cit loving home in Malvern?
Please ring 01684-564266 to have a chat!
Many thanks,
David.

Hi, they crop up now and then, but would you consider a 1.9 petrol auto? I've driven one and the economy's OK - the one I ran was around the 30-35mpg mark - and it's got a lot more 'go' than the diesel auto...

Theres one on eBay (needs some work, but nothing serious) - nice:

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, I am thinking of a petrol auto, and I had my eye on the TRS in Leominster that was posted here last week -this was on ebay but withdrawn before I could bid on it.
My first BX (ten years ago)was a 19TRS that was wonderful!
Okay, so does anyone have a petrol auto available?

Thanks,
David.

Ren16tx currently has a D-reg BX 19D auto for sale. It's the one that stuart used to own, and I've driven. Needs a few odds and sods fixing, and being an early square-port engine is possibly a little slower than a later model, but it's a nice car.

Also has a near-new starter motor fitted by yours truly.

All except 1.

For that is a Turbo Diesel Automatic.
Built by me. Cos I'm stooooopidly great.
Not that it'll help any, since it is not for sale, at any price, and never will be.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Indeed, given that it's auto, and a 1.9 it couldn't be a turbo.

Way2go,

TZD is a trim level & could come in either n/a or turbo models, however, like everyone above, there isnt a factory made turbo auto, except the one Doc built, so send him a car & some money & i'm sure there could be another one on the road :D

Yep, for a mere £5K I will build another.
Although the lead time on the box is about 3 months....

Hold up. Is Lumpy an automatic?

In short, yes, it could be converted to diesel.
BUT, you'll need a diesel autobox since the gearing is WAY different.

In short, as in Charlotte001's thread RE the same question, it just aint worth it.
Better, easier and cheaper to find a diesel.
