So the cam belts got 55k miles on it
and the clutch is knackered.
And it needs welding....

hhmm....I'm afraid £350 is rather optimistic, given that the T&T is short aswell.

In all honesty it's probably only worth weigh in value.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

My standard method for evaluating the value of a vehicle:

Start with the value of the vehicle with No tax or test on it.
Add the value of Tax, and the MOT at roughly £1/day (IE any roadworthy car with a full MOT must be worth £350)
Remove the commercial cost of any immediate work needed to make the car roadworthy.

So...

Value of car : +£100
Value of Tax : +£30 (assuming it's out at the end of May.)
Value of MOT: +£60 (ish)
Cost of repairs needed:
Welding : -£40
Clutch : -£180
Cambelt : -£110

Overall value of vehicle: -£140 (ie scrap)

Sorry.

Not wishing to pour oil on the flames here, but take my advice - NEVER believe someone wo says they have changed the belt on a car unless its backed up with recipts - I bought an AX which had supposedly had a timing belt change, after flogging the arse off it back down the motorway I popped off the cover to discover a very very sorry and cracked belt indeed.
Had I believed him it could have let go (quite soon I think) and wrecked the little donkey.

Some photos would be good though if possible. Try also Gumtree and if all else fails eBay - you would be amazed the leads that can be generated on the bay.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jon.bonner ... cs off car

The batterys new only 2 weeks old and has 4 year guarantee on it has roof bars new oil filter boxed and brake pads boxed half a thing off oil another parcel shelf headlamps front flashing lamps another spare wheel and 13 years off paper work to say how much has been spent on it

I would take £200 cash

As scrap man is offering me £100 battery is as good as new and i can rise probs £30-40 on that and cd player £20 plus theres about £10 off fuel in car

You'd knowingly and dishonestly misdescribe the car? Sellers like that are what gives eBay a bad name.

What else is wrong with it that you haven't mentioned?
