16v Frontpipe

Post by Brian King »

What a load of chattering housewives! I thought somebody ought to stay in touch with their masculine side and check the technicalities. Well, it's certainly a front pipe and it's certainly rare, but no way is it for a 16v. It's for a carburettor 1905cc. Check out the part number .

Brian I was informed by 2 reliable sources that its for a 16v, do the carburettor ones have a divider? I need to be 100 percent sure either way before I pull the listing if it isnt for a 16v.

Looking again at the photo it seems to be missing the integral box for a 16v which wasn't present on standard carburettor models, so well spotted Brian!

Don't think your caviat Tim, "Sold with no reserve, please check this will fit your car as NO REFUND OR RETURNS are offered." , will work if you are misrepresenting what you are selling as how can someone check that it "does what it says on the tin" on a BX16v before they receive it

I have no intention to mislead anyone on this, I bought it for my 16v but was reliably informed yes it was for a valver but albeit it a later one with a catalyst. If someone can confirm for sure exactly what its for then I will act accordingly. I thought only the 16v had the divider in them.

Your listing doesn't highlight that it is only for catalyser version and there were very few of these that got to the UK market as I understand it. So chances are that it won't fit if the buyer is unaware that this is what it is for.

I think you need to check up with Citroen exactly what your part number refers to unless someone here is able to cross reference the number quickly.

Tim,
According to the Citroen Service website, that part number equates to no. 1230 06 183017........and is listed as;

EXHAUST FRONT for 1905L AND 4X4

Hope this helps

Just done that, looks like I was mis-sold it at the CCC national, it is as Brian pointed out for a carb fed 1.9 2wd/4wd. List price is £191.52 from citroen,Ah well I will relist it.

ARSE!

What's the point in re-listing it and paying again? No bids were placed so you can actually amend the entire listing including description.
Vauxhall apologist.

I believe there were 3 bids. :?

Doesn't the bid counter zero when a listing is pulled ? :?

Thanks Dave, odd thing is the 2 frontpipes I have are different in length but the "bent bit" and the part that clamps to the exhaust manifold is the same!

Strange.
