Our triton green bx 16v will be coming on the market in 2 weeks as soon as we get our gti 8v back from the garage.

Its a 1991 j reg taxed and tested and is currently on 201,000 miles

ill update as soon sa i can with all the details and recent pics.

looking for £750, it may go on ebay but has also been advertised localy

That car is a beaut for sure, I've longingly looked at that many times, infact this would rather appear to have MattH's name all over it!

Hi There,

just a few more details.

its a high mileage car due to it being owned by phh allstar from new and being a reps car and did around 100,000 miles in the first 2 to 3 years (so mainly motorway use) A quick look at the service book reveals that its stamped right up from day 1.

recent parts since we have owned it are:-

a clutch at 175,000 miles
recent cambelt
water pump
exhaust system
front discs and pads
oil and filter change
new fdv
magnecore kv 85 ht leads
hp pump has been changed
new rear discs and pads
recent alternator

It had just had a top end rebuild just before we bought it 2 and a bit years ago now and is in daily service and has never let us down in that 2 years.

well next step is ebay....... and if it doesnt sell it may well get broken up for the pug boys round here.

If it goes that route spares WILL be avaliable.

Price is negotiable but as with all cars it has had a fair bit of money spent on it by us. And i dont realy want to give it away. Id run it myself but im realy not intrested in having 2 bx 16vs and i like my red one. The way i look at it at the mo is it may be worth more in bits???????.

I have to say that looks does look epic!

Very high mileage, but it has obviously been very well cared for. This might sound a bit daft, but are there any signs of rust at all? Not a deal breaker, because they are all susceptible to it...

erm... Well I can't say I'm not interested. Because I am. Very. Best colour, best interior, best age, very tidy bodily and mechanically. Would be a real shame to see it get broken. I'll have a think about it this weekend and let you know if I can do anything about it. I really do want this car, and Doc, you were right on the mark with your earlier remark

Morning,

ive got to go into town in a min but later on im going out to the car to get as many photos of it as i can. Rust wise there is very little on it. Both inner wings have been welded up (common problem ) Round the front windscreen a pillars there is a few small scabs ( i think this was due to the paint being scratched when a replacement windscreen was fitted) they were treated with rust cure and painted over and have NOT got any worse in the 3 years we have had it and it is an easy repair at any good body shop. We have had the front wings, front bumper and rear bumper off and i have undersealed the inner wings, front end behind the bumper, rear end behind the bumper, all 4 wheel arches and the underneath. Its also been waxoyld in hard to reach areas and chassis rails. All pipes are coated ones and are in very good nick.

Ive got to go so ill post more later this afernoon.

If anyone wants it make us an offer over the engine and box value and we will consider it. In reality the pics make it look WORSE than it is.
