**Wanted: OS front and rear doors (Estate)**
Message on behalf of Stuart Hedges, who's got no internet connection at the moment:
Some bloody twit has pulled out from a side road and pranged his mintylicious BX TZD estate I don't believe it!
So he's on the lookout for both front and rear driver's side doors, and if at all possible the means to spray them Olympic Blue.
Having had his lovely Mk1 BX completely written off last year, you can imagine how he's feeling... especially after all the hassle he had over the insurance payout.
Can anyone who's got good doors lying about let me know and I'll pass it on. He's still in Bristol until Sunday, when David R is helping him to move to his new flat in Surrey.
Cheers,
Mark.

- My Cars: Historically, lots of BX hatches/estates in the 90s/00s - 16/19i/17td/19d
Recent scruffy diesel n/a estate - "The Red Shed" - is no longer mine. - x 9
That's a bummer for Stuart. The Doc may still have all the silver doors from my previous estate at his barn, up the M5 not too far from Bristol , though possibly one may be minus a window. Don't forget that BX hatchback and estate doors are interchangeable though.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Definitely. The rear doors on an estate are the same as on a hatch.DLM wrote:Pretty much 99% sure: the estate has that look that some felt to be a bit "clunky" precisely because it's only the rear wings, roof and boot floor that differentiate it in bodywork terms, from a BX hatch.
I've a feeling I'm going to be changing some doors soon...
and spraying them too...

That sounds like the ideal fix, although £70 for a couple of doors seems rather expensive to me.Philip Chidlow wrote:I've located a pair of Olympic Blue driver's side doors in dirty but seemingly straight condition at Edwards. He wants £70 the pair, which seems OK to me.
Whereabouts is "Edwards"?

Depends who's doing the spraying.Philip Chidlow wrote:Cheaper than spraying a pair.
Again. Depends who mixes the paint, and who's doing the spraying. I know what quality of finish I can achieve.Philip Chidlow wrote:And better results too.
I wouldn't expect to pay more than £20 for a door from a breakers.. even a perfect one.

Go find a pair of matching Olympic Blue ones thenDavidRutherford wrote:I wouldn't expect to pay more than £20 for a door from a breakers.. even a perfect one.
But I guess you can always pay £40 for a pair in any colour, prep them up, paint them to match and save yerself £30!
How much is paint though? Offset by delivery costs I suppose.
Either way, if I could get a pair of doors in the right colour to save my car from being a wreck for £70, I wouldn't complain!
