That's actually quite funny. I've got a very similar item sat here on trestles at the moment being prepped for spraying in that same Citroen primer. I bought it off Ebay here - had the same spiel about what they cost new ( as if anyone's going to pay that!).
I bought it for €1 with €35 postage! Also has these dents this guy mentions.
My TRD has a long nosed steel bonnet that got front ended and after studying it for quite a while thought it was better to start from scratch with the new one. All dents 'rectified' and filled now just got to apply the spraying products that cost a hundred times as much as the bonnet!
Gris Perle Metallic - of which there are three varieties apparently depending on which supplier was cheapest that week in the mid 80s!
I think the plastic fantastic bonnet was a better concept - especially as I heard that some zelous Citroen dealers used to hit it with a hammer to prove how strong it was!
