BX TXD SALOON 1992.

Post by citro-geoff »

I have just had a call from a guy who wants to sell his 1992 BX TXD saloon. It has just failed an MOT on rust on the inner wings(rear I presume). It has just had a new battery at a cost of £70,and 2 new tyres for the MOT. The rears are nearly new too. It has done a genuine 112k miles, and covers about 3k a year.It was his wife's car,and he has bought her another car. His name is Reg Fitt, and the car is located in Staffs. Contact numbers are 01283 790077 and mob.07967 749405. I was interested myself, but I have too many jobs on (2 CX Prestige to get on the road and the wife's new Xantia) Should make a good car for someone or spares for another.

Tim, it seems that you live in the current BX hot-spot. Just got to build that warehouse that Jaba is dreaming of to put them all in! :D

Actually, it's most likely the front inner wings, as that is a common corrosion spot.

Sounds like a very cheap and easy fix for a useable car.

I'm guessing he only wants scrap money for it?

Spoke to Mrs Fitt, its a 1992 K 19TXD hatch in red, its failed its mot on the front inner wings, its always been garaged and shes owned it for 13 years, They were hoping for £150 for it but I think they will take less after I mentioned that any car without an MOT is worth nowt, bearing in mind they have just spent £100+ on a battery and tyres, the tax ran out at the end of Dec.

The car is located in alrewas and I will aim to get some pictures asap.

I am happy to help anyone uplift this car but its not for me.

If the body and paintwork are fine, should make someone an economical choice. It's got 'all the toys' I presume and a velour interior? For less than £150? Doesn't sound too bad (OK there's welding so I suppose the jury's out until inspected)...

Well apparently its very tidy apart from a dented (metal) bonett, im aiming to go over during the day tomorrow and take some pics, if your handy with a welder its not to bad, and plus its a 19D s wont have the ABS pump to get in the way.
