BX 16 auto engine and box.
From the fabled "Snoopy" BX that I broke up a while back. The 1.6 petrol engine and auto box are still in my garage, and quite frankly are completely in the way. I have absolutely no need for them, so if anyone wants them, they're free.
I have a lifting gantry, so can assist lifting into the back of your car/van. Come and take them away.

You couldn't attach a 4HP to a TU engine without really re-engineering things, more cost and hassle that it's worth IMHO.
And the N/A diesel auto was a bit cack IMHO.
Now a TD auto, thats most certainly FTW!
I might build myself one oneday when the old leg dies once too often.
And of course a 16Valve auto !

auto cnversion
I put an auto box out of a 19trs into a 19 tgd a couple of years ago (more or less the same gearing as the 19 trs is higher geared than other petrols), and it was pretty easy. BUT it wrecked the fuel economy (60 down to 40 mpg with same driver) and made the performance pretty poor. Very pleasant if you and all the people in the cars queueing up behind were patient.... Spoilt a nice car really. I think a TD would probably be ok to drive with an auto.
Re: auto cnversion
Probably due in the main to the fact that the auto will not change into 4th until 42mph and drops out again when speed reduces to 38mph.velosolex50 wrote:BUT it wrecked the fuel economy (60 down to 40 mpg with same driver)

Oh, it's better than ok, Citroen REALLY should have built them, a proper made for the job autobox on a TD in a BX is a resplendant thing to drive.velosolex50 wrote: I think a TD would probably be ok to drive with an auto.
