But you didn't need to get it back on topic because Mulley had already kindly offered him what he wanted, plus all the responses have kept it at/near the top anyway.
It was a pointless reply to be honest, it ain't broke don't fix it.

My point is that its great we all get along and have a good laugh, however sometimes the original post gets lost and the request for assistance or parts gets forgotten.

I dont class it as pointless, in my opinion jokes, quips etc are very much part of the forum and what makes it different to others but we could we not put them in the general chat /other stuff parts?

Just a thought so dont get riled up about.

That's what off topic is for but in a lot of cases once the topic in particular has been resolved (as with the case here) then it doesn't really matter imho. As I said the matter in this case was resolved as the request was met with an offer.
Whether or not topics need moving or locking is up to a moderator I suppose, not a job for you or I.
I'm sure the OP would have 'bumped' his thread should he need to have.

Billy and Tim locked in a tent. I fear only one will come out alive!

I'm in the market for a P2 tow bar after the one on OHO got nicked with the car if anyone has one for the price of an etch a sketch drawing?!

I agree with Phil and Billy on this.
The dude asked, Mulley offered, for gratis FFS, you cant ask for more than that, especially as the dude has 1 post, doesn't say hi or anything and then doesn't come back..

If much piss taking then ensues then so be it!
Anyway, it's not "off topic" it's having a conversation, or indeed a laugh.
In these desolate and dark fiscal times that can only be a good thing.

Look, never mind that. For £40,000,000, I'll piss the shape of one into a fast receding glacier. Top that!

I have a very nice tow bar for a Hatchback, but its not for free.

A) I paid £45 for it a good number years ago when I ran my BX's.

B) Its off the car ready to bolt on to your car with out all the hassle of smashing your knuckles, breaking your back, going blue with the cold and blowing off with words starting with F !

C) This one just bolts straight on to the car with out any drilling, aligning up problems as it uses existing pre-punched holes in the chassis. I'm not sure if its an original factory equipment but it has a 'Swanneck' Bulb Towing end which is detachable with two bolt fasteners if you want to remove it when not towing.
The Swanneck has a chrome finish. Tow bar does not have any electrics with it best to put a separate plate in discreet place under the rear bumper. I only used it for towing a small trailer for garden rubbish etc, to the local tip in the day time.
I bought/choose this because of its nice clean discreet design rather than the big minging exterior flat bolted type using a universal tow ball affair).

As stated above its already off the car ready for collection at a reasonable price £35 ono.

Also just for the record I did 'E' mail 'George' yesterday and as of yet had no reply so he had first chance !

So its now up for grabs to first come first served !

Thanks

Locked in a tent with Tim? Erm, no thanks I think he's missing some rather vital equipment that could tempt me in the first place plus I'd be worried about the lack of room what with all the Mr Sheen he'd have stored up

There's no problem here by the way Mulley and I'll take your offer of a free towbar up if you include the car with it!

Oh believe me it would.

Mulley has a towbar and whilst it was very generous of him to offer it for nowt the person who wanted it can't be too fussed.

You can't put a price on art.

hmmmmm ???

so then the tow bar represents mans innate and proactive desire to pull the world into order and of course being french in origin it prognosticates the agnostic influence on the presupposition that a vengeful god exists

so then naturally the action of shaping an object by urinating into a by product of global warming should awaken in all of us a deeply melancholy stage in the development of the human race

and finally, i will wager, with my remaining 253,000,000.57 spanish golden doubloons; after of course i have paid the wise sam

with odds of ten to one on, that billy the goat will undoubtedly munch wee timmy tim

art is such a wonderful thing

and so is going off topic
