BOLTS FOR ALLOYS

Post by Chris Abbott »

Hi guys, ive managed to get myself a set of alloys, i now need the bolts to suit, has any body got any knocking around? It doesnt need to be a full set, any odd ones will do and perhaps i can build a full set up. Thanks to Dave for my GTI wheels- youre a true gent! :D

FWIW Saxo VT* bolts and Xantia bolts (both with flat faced washer) are the same, just different colours.

C2's/C3's/C4's aren't.

AX bolts are too short, CX are the right length.

Correction, you will need seven more.

(I did have 4 locking bolts, but they are sold now.)

AX bolts aren't flat faced either. Never thought of CX ones though

If the AX bolts are not flat faced, which car has bolts which are identical to the BX alloy bolts, but about 10mm shorter?

I had a set of these once, which came with a set of BX alloys I bought.
I binned them when I saw they were not long enough.

They could have caused some unpleasantness if they had failed, so I write this as a caution.

I thaught they were from an AX.

205/309 GTi

AX ones look like conventional steelie bolts, with a tapered seat.

Much like ZX alloy bolts then..

Indeed, the pug bolts are shorter, and I got caught out when I first got the alloys on the BX, as I had no bolts, so buggered off down the scrappies and got a set from a 205.
Wound them in and thought "fook me, they dont go in much!".

Then spent, er, rather alot at the main stealer buying brand new bolts...
In bags of three since thats how they come!
