My new 16v

Post by Matt H »

I have just done something rather funny, and bought a BX 16v...

Considering I was always after a Black Phase 2, you might find this a bit odd...

This picture was taken in 2005 when my Dad owned the car...

I'm still buzzing from the drive home, so I will leave it at that for now... there will be pictures, and a better description when I get chance.

What a beauty. Is she still in such good order (by the look of it!)?

Yes, it looks to be pretty much as good as it was, the wheels need a light refurb again, and the paint is a bit flat, but the engine/gearbox is sweet, the rust has been sorted, and it sounds absolutely amazing.

we owned that car aroung 2004 we bought it from crew in cheshire for 750. Dad spent £3000 on it at the citroen car clinic in sandbach so you should have that bill in your service history. 8)
The citroen bx loves garages hates driving

Yes, looks good. Seems that everyone here has had a turn in that car! Let's have some current pictures then.

What are you going to do with your 14 now?

Cheers for the kind comments everyone.

I ended up going to Race Retro at Stoneleigh today, and I had a good drive in the 16v.

Actually had a few people come up and ask me about it... In a good way. All good comments.

BX in good company

As for the 14, I really don't know. It's sat in the garage at the minute, not doing anything... My head says sell it, but then it's worth sod-all, and my heart says keep it, and just use it when running the 16v becomes too expensive.

14TGE for winter/long distance use, 16v for summer use and shows so you can insure it on a classic policy, Job Done, next question please :D

Nice one Matt, in answer to your question, tune the 14, lighten it and have a bit of a Q car...except you've gone and made it look like a valver now!
