Barn of BX parts?

I just came out of a shop to find a man waiting near the BX who asked me if I needed any parts. He says he's just sold his last BX after owning several for 15 years and now he wants to get shot of all the parts.
His brother worked for a Citroen dealer and through him he stockpiled lots of parts - new and used. He says it's a barn's worth - he reeled off a list which just went on and on, new front struts sounded quite appealing for a start! There's also a complete BX16 non-runner.
He says I can take everything, he just wants it gone. 'Bring a large trailer and take what you want' were his words.

I'm going to go over and visit him later in the week and see what's of use. Hopefully take some photos too. What a strange meeting! Shame I'm so far away from Uk as it sounds like there's parts enough to go round. I'll report back once I've checked this out.

Blimey. This sounds a potentially amazing find.

Front struts and rear suspension cylinders. Octopi and gaitors, driveshafts, hydraulic and fuel pumps, radiators etc as well as exhaust components (me want CN151 lol!) will all prove extremely popular I'm sure. Not to mention body and trim items and accessories like mud flaps.

Capitilist speak: If he wants shot, and doesn't expect money for the parts (!) I'd be tempted to clear the barn as a 'business venture', cut the owner of the barn in on it and do it properly - hire a van etc... You could make some good money, which no-one should begrudge you!?

Todd - what a stroke of luck. If you have the storage then get the lot. Otherwise just get the bits which are needed regularly : hydraulics, suspension struts, brakes, electronics, trim and body panels, cylinder heads, camshafts etc etc.
You will then be very popular indeed.

The problem would be storage for me. Seems I've filled up all my space, certainly for body items like panels, bumpers etc. Also he already told me that there's no diesel specific parts as he only had petrol BXs but there's a lot of generic BX parts.
I don't want to get too revved up til I've seen the stash. Before he disappeared in his Xsara (?) he told me my TRD was riding a bit too high at the front. Once a BX freak..

Yes, sorry for delay, took a while to arrange a suitable time to visit with the bloke but I went over there this morning..

Well, it's certainly a barn ( a very big one) full but not only BX bits but several vintage tractors, two 70s Porsches, uncountable amounts of mopeds/ motorbikes. The bloke and his brother are 'collectors' you might say

On the BX front : every conceivable panel in a variety of colours. Doors, bumpers, wings, bonnets, tailgates etc. Lights, struts, boxes and boxes of unidentifiable parts all used. Mechanical components, exhausts, radiators .Two wind deflectors with 'air control system' which are little hinged flaps on trailing edge of the thing to adjust the air! Never seen this.
Upstairs in the loft section more and more boxes including many new Citroen parts that I didn't have time to investigate, still in their boxes. Plus more unaccesssible stuff.. piled high.
The spares vehicle turns out to be a GTI automatic with aircon which has had a side swipe but is complete. Also there's a ZX Volcane complete.
He wants all the Citroen stuff out and he says he'll lend me his trailer too which looks too big for my BX to pull! He doesn't want any money, just wants it away.

I don't know if I've got the time or the space to deal with this but will go back in a few days to start sorting through. I didn't see any new struts but he says they're there.

Then I went to his house - full of vintage electronics, jukeboxes, records! I thought I was bad, he makes me look like a minimalist.

today I finally got the rear doors open. The interiour "Entreprise" trim was fixed with 4 insane rivets (almost 1cm diameter) and it took a lot of drilling to get them out. Interesting bits I found inside:

- They removed any sound proofing and instead bolted a huge and heavy metal plate to the door where they attached the space separator
- The central locking motor is still there and I just had to plug it back in and it works! Brilliant!!
- The window is held in place by a big metal L piece, lifting mechanism is gone, but the rails are still there
- The outer door handle was also fixed in place with an L piece, removed it, now it's working again but the metal pin that connects it to the lock is gone.

All in all, the door is almost usable again. Therefore, I'm very interested in those interiour trim pieces you found in the barn. My interiour is black with thin white stripes, but any black will do - rear window motors would be awesome as well...

In any case, assuming you can't get everything over to your place using his trailer, please let me have a look at the stuff before it all goes to waste! I'm also around until the 14. of August. If you'd allow me to come along, I'd be happy to pay you a visit.

(So, anyone interested in some utterly useless, but very rare rear door panels for a BX Entreprise?
