Tow Bar Wanted
Tow Bar Wanted
Hi Folks.
I am after a towbar for my BX Hatch and would really like a genuine Citroen one. Does any have one that they are willing to swap for folding stuff.
I have got an aftermarket jobbie (that is not fitted at the moment) but I think it's for an earlier BX with slimmer bumpers as the towball flange does not give enough clearance between the bumper, ball and the trailer hitch.
I am in Northamptonshire but I am visiting Somerset next weekend.
Rich.

I've had the same problem in the past – you can get aluminium spacer blocks and longer bolts from trailer/towbar specialists. Easier and cheaper than changing the whole towbar!
1990 BX TZD Estate ('the grey one', 1991 BX TZD Estate ('the white one'), 1982 2CV6 Charleston (in bits), 1972 AZU Serie B (2CV van), 1974 HY72 Camper, 1990 Land Rover 110 diesel LWB, 1957 Mobylette AV76, 1992 Ducati 400SS, 1966 VW Beetle, 1990 Mazda MX-5, 1996 Peugeot 106D, 1974 JCB 2D MkII, 1997 BMW R1100RS, 1987 Suzuki GSX-R1100, 1978 Honda CX500A, 1965 Motobecane Cady, 1988 Honda Bros/Africa Twin, 1963 Massey Ferguson 825, and a lot of bicycles!
That is my last resort.... I just really would like a Citroen one 'cause I'm sad like that!KevR wrote:I've had the same problem in the past – you can get aluminium spacer blocks and longer bolts from trailer/towbar specialists. Easier and cheaper than changing the whole towbar!

Really sorry mate, I guess it must have gone to China.
There is a tow bar on Smiffy's scrapper BX, but I don't know what he plans to do with it, and I'm not even sure it's genuine actually..
I'll ask him if you like though.

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Any help would be great as I really would like a genuine one.
There was one on ebay a few weeks ago that was on a car that was being dismantled... did anyone know who was selling it or if it has been sold????

Think I\'ve got one in the shed....is the genuine one the massive one that bolts up either side of the spare wheel?
