But you dont know without trying.
I am after a 1.9/1.7 non turbo diesel angine and box very very cheap and as near to Lincoln as possible as i have virtually no free cash and only a very small crappy trailer with nackered lights that i can borrow.

I've had a word with a friend of mine and he says he has a low mileage 17d engine currently still in a C15. The good news is he says he could get it out for you in a couple of hours and it's only 12 miles from you.
The bad news is he wants £70 for it, which would probably include the gearbox and also you'd need to change the camshaft as it's in a C15 with a flange mounted vacuum pump.

They think it's all over, it is now!

Thanks ken but thats a bit steep for me especially as there is the cost of changing the camshaft as well i am starting to think that this idea isnt going to work as i have very little funds available i may have to consider either selling the one i have to raise the cash to get a replacement or just drive this one into the ground and hope some funds come available to do an engine swop.

Just add the cam from one of my heads, there easy to do!
Just got a new job, but i need to come over lincoln way (ish) to pick up various bits so theres a possibility i might be able to run an engine over if it needs collecting from this side of the isle, though i may well need a jump start by the time i get to you! Bloody alternator!

Sounds like a plan to me! Are you bringing Sleepy`s car and chnagine it all here or just removing my engine and box and taking it back with you? Makes no difference btw, just curious!
BTW Mark, I would have thought 1.7 n/a diesels were naff in BX`s until I owned one. Went like a rocket for what it was and Vanny`s mate will bear testament to that as he`s still smoking around in it.
