Good grief! WANT! Auction is on my birthday, though I suspect my friends/relatives won't fancy having a flutter.

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
Fuck a duck! Two 85 GT's in one year! Really like the colour, and those miles looks like it will need some work to be roadworthy though, I wonder if it runs?
It would be really good to have this in the club, somebody buy it. It's also the 9th known GT out of 12 left according to howmanyleft.com, although I suspect mine and this will not be accounted in those figures as they haven't been taxed/SORN'd since the system came in force (2006??).
Lowest miles BX ever perhaps?
EDIT: I'm up in London that week for my last two exams... Oh dear. And it seems that 2 more GT's have appeared according to Q4 stat's of 2011, we now have 14, 2 being taxed. I wonder how accurate howmanyleft.com's information is then?

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
Just had a look, insurance wouldn't be too ridiculous (I just renewed mine today on the TZD and with a bit of phoning managed to save £150, which is probably about how much some of you pay in total, curse this postcode!), but Essex? Auction? That makes it a bit out of the question, but seriously that is a very nice looking car.
If someone could just swing by, win it for the 500 quid estimate and trailer it to me, and someone else organise a nice lockup for it to live in, that would be great.

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
It'll be very interesting to see what it makes. In theory, it's a remarkable one-off car. In reality, are there enough of us BX fans?
Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
Nice lockup for it to live in? WHAT PLANET ARE YOU HAILING FROM?!?!?!?!?! *Breathe Gareth...just breathe*
If I had the money to guarantee ownership I would be sorely tempted even though it's not an estate
which would suit me better and I can say the only time she would get near a lockup would be when I drive
her to band practice!
Pity, life sucks when you are broke.

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
Depends where you live, if you live where I live/what space you have to park, it would be nice (from my own and the insurance man's) point of view to have a car like that locked up safely at night. I'm in no way the kind to leave a car unused, but come on, it would be a shame to damage the dash carpets!

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
OMG That is my dream BX...Its even got the GT computer!! What a gem..If only I had a garage and £500. In theory, some dealer is gonna win it and then pass it on...Arhh, do I go to the bank and beg for an overdraft and book a day off work hehe. NO, seriously, that would be financial suicide at the mo.

Christopher Columbus! Sker - use - me while I go and fetch a mop and bucket - I've made a bit of a mess!! Everything about that car is 'right'. Another thing that's right; it'll go for more than 500 quid and I'll never own it.

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
Well after joking to him indoors about this, he has encouraged for me to go to the auction to "see how much it goes for". I'm in London that week anyway, so looks like i'm going to the auction! I have a very limited budget and have no intentions on keeping it, but if I can be an intermediary to someone on here...?
Would hate for it to go to a person purely out for getting a few quid out of it. Anyone else going?
Just gone to the auctioneers site, has a large dent on the passenger wing and a matching scratch on the drivers wing, more piccies on this site.

That really is marvellous. I wonder what the story is on this one? Let's get this into the club!

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
Story is one owner from new, very low miles and comes with a wad of paperwork apparently. Being sold as part of an estate from a chap that has passed away recently. Doesn't start, but rolls and isn't seized - but they haven't put a new battery on there and some fresh fuel to try to start it. Large dent in passenger wing and scratch along drivers wing, but otherwise in very good condition apparently.

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
Patrick Rugg has stepped up to buy this, apparently he has no budget and wishes to add it to his private collection of 3 unique UK BX's - one of which is a sport! I can't compete with that, so won't go which is good, because it'll mean I get my GT up and sorted quicker (after my exams of course).

Re: Low Milage MK1 GT For sale
It'll be very interesting to see what it goes for. There might not be many BXers out there, but there are lots of collectors who know a rare and unique car when they see one. I think there'll be one or two collectors who really know what it's worth and consequently they'll push the price up. If Patrick wants it (I hope he gets it) he'll need to be able to put his hands on 1500 quid (+) - I think it may go for substantially more - in my view - it's certainly worth it.
