Woohoo got an MOT
MOT isnt due til the end of the month, but thought I may as well try and get it sorted now, so if anything needed doing I would have time.
Got a friend to take it down as I was busy at work.
It passed straight through with no problems.
Been advised to change front disks and pads in the near future. And CV boot is starting to split but not weeping yet.
All in all pretty happy cos I only paid £150 for it back in December.
Already covered nearly 4000 miles in it

Mine is just a standard (the way god intended it) BX 14TGE.
Had only done 85k when I brought it from a citroen mechanic mate, who was selling it because his wife wasnt strong enough anymore to drive a car without power steering.
Just need to sort out the fuel economy and hopefully discs and pads later this week, and it should be ok for another year
I think BXclub window stickers will be the only modification

M O T
Hello chalk up another one, went through with a advisery on a sticky front brake, wheel off and clean slide and everything OK.
One interesting point was that I thought that the "new" M O T's might be harder but in fact more cars are passing and they are not doing so much repair work, the tester being "told" ( by the computor ) to pass things that he would have failed cars on before.
Cheers.
Geoff.

Interestingly I have currently around 50% biodiesel/Fossil diesel mix and the tester said the machine struggled to get a reading

Same here Stewart - but mine is almost 100% bio! The MOT examiner was bemused by the appetizing aroma but also found that the emissions were exceptionally low - he was amazed considering the mileage of 191,000! Also, when turbo kicks in there is no longer black smoke!
It took over 30 minutes for my certificate to be printed - longer than the retest! The examiner says that the delays have reduced his capability to do 20 tests a day to 8 a day! More beaurocracy gone mad?

My tester had a similar story, apparently the hardware for the computerisation has been hanging around since 1998, the thing actually connects using dial up via a 14.4modem! I havent even seen one of those for years, a lot slower, my test took an hour, compared to around 35 minutes in the old days, mond you it will stop garage break ins to steal certificates and prevent MOTs down the pub, until somebody hacks the system.
