Is there a difference between a Mk 1 & a Mk 2 bonnet ?
I am after a new bonnet my 16v, there is one for sale on eBay listed as a 1988 BX14 in white, the question is will it fit my November 1989 registered car which is a Mk2, Also is Alpine White the only White in the BX range ?

I think a 14 might have the long nose bonnet, which is no good for a Valver.

I famously had a long nose bonnet on my valver , its not correct but didnt actually make any difference, cooling may be slightly better with a short nose one though

Bonnets are interchangeable from Mk1 to Mk2, short or long nosed, metal or GRP.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Hi Vince,
I have a 'short nosed' White bonnet, manufactured from plastic/GRP which came off a TZD Turbo available !

If you also have the ducting etc that came off the underside of the TZD turbo's bonnet i would be very interested.

Don't fret Andy,Mothman wrote:If you also have the ducting etc that came off the underside of the TZD turbo's bonnet i would be very interested.

I'd already thought about your need/request if Vince just wants the bonnet
As you were initially earmarked for the whole bonnet/assy, but due to logistics/Courier costs it would have been too expensive IIRC !
I'll keep you posted !

I wouldn't worry too much about the cooling issue, as most of the airflow into the engine bay is from below the bumper line.

Isnt the ducting under the bonnet specifically for air for the turbo though? Cooling or otherwise?

Yes mate, the TD have a special bonnet pad which is hollow that ducts air straight to the intercooler from a duct infront in the radiator.
