Hi all,
All this hot weather has got me thinking that I'd like to fit a temperature gauge to my MK2 1.9 NA diesel hatch so I'm on the lookout for the following bits:
1. Coolant temperature gauge from instrument cluster
2. Coolant temperature sensor from engine thermostat housing
I understand the existing "lamp of death" wiring can be used to link up the sensor to the gauge?
Cheers,
Phil

Re: Wanted: coolant temperature gauge and sensor
Is it Citroen DIY? I read a very good item of how to do this. Whilst pleased to have bought one done from Jaba I am a little disappointed at not having made it myself. A winter job really in a warm den / workshop but must be worthwhile.

Re: Wanted: coolant temperature gauge and sensor
Yes, I've seen a couple of articles both here on the forum and elsewhere describing the mod. Seems fairly straight forward and as you say, extremely worthwhile.
I think it's the gauge from a GTI that I need.
Cheers,
Phil

Re: Wanted: coolant temperature gauge and sensor
I have a set of Peugeot gti gauges that are a perfect fit physically but look different.
Look on eBay for Peugeot 205 gti guage.
Problem is the speedo won't work (as its a petrol speedo). You could have the Peugeot petrol and oil pressure gauges on the left and the temp gauges on the right, which 'could' look ok but could also crap. Give me a shout if you are interested.

Re: Wanted: coolant temperature gauge and sensor
I ended up fitting aftermarket water temp and boost gauges in pods on the dash when I was building the hooligan BX. they worked well.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
