Thanks to Tim Leech for the MOT.
Unfortunately its failed on:
the headlights aiming too low
carbon monoxide emissions 4% (max is 3.5%)
CV boot split

I've just got the gunsons gas tester on it and brought it down nearly a % by reducing the idle from about 1100rpm to 800rpm.
It had a right thrashing to Tims place. Hopefully it should be ok next time. The alternative is for me to stand there with a screwdriver when they test it so i can adjust it when its there.

Ian, if you have a flow meter type injection fitted then if you turn the mixture adjusting screw OUT three turns this will take the CO down to 2.0 ish at tickover.
You can then screw it in again after the MOT if it runs a bit hesitantly. This assumes you have no serious ignition/injection problems on the car that are giving you the high reading.

hmmm biodiesel in a 1.9petrol, well i guess then it probably would be worth £10
that is nothing that list! Mine is usually a dead o/s reg plate light (it dies on the drive there every year, and is already dead (blew the bulb on the way to the fcs) and the MOT is due next week), and it normally fails on emmisions first time round (i blame the rad blowing all the coolant out on the last MOT for that though )

Ian, sorry to sound coarse but how much did this dent dude charge? Or if it`s top secret any idea what their usual price is for a couple of small dents?
I have a Corsa diesel here which`ll be on eBay as soon as the new engine is fitted but it has some dents around it which otherwise spoil it`s pretty good condition.
