BX Meteor in Holland
Hi BX enthousiasts,
I'm PrutsyLJ a proud dutch owner of a BX 19 GTi 8v from 1992. I'm looking for some information about the British BX "Meteor" models. This is because i ran in to one @ my scrapyard today.... Including right hand drive and the missing second dashbox. (Which is typical for the UK i guess?). The one @ my scrapyard is a petrol model. I think it is a 1600/1900cc engine with a carburetor. I'm not sure it was just a quick peek.
My interest lies in the interior... Cause this was really looking nice and i'm thinking of building it in to my own BX.... So who can tell me more about the BX Meteor? More info would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Hi there, welcome to BXclub.
The meteor was available in the UK as a 1.6 petrol OR 1.9 non turbo diesel.
Your quite right, we didnt get the passenger side dash pod in the UK
I believe the meteor was launched in 1990. They were TXS spec cars with the black seats with red pinstripe. They were available in meteor grey only according to the brochures BUT you could also get dark blue, sea green and silver.
Normal TXS spec with electric sunroof, front windows and the GTi rear spoiler.
What else would you like to know about it??? I've got info for most/all BX's that were launched in the UK.

Well, the Meteor @ my scrapyard also has a 16v steeringwheel. Is this standard on a Meteor or an option? In Holland only the 16v models, and a Dutch actionmodel called the "chic" had one. The color of the meteor is the seagreen you named i think. I'm not sure...
Well anyway next week i'm gonna take the meteor interior to install it in to my own car or put it in the attic Were there more actionmodels in the UK like the meteor?
In Holland we had the:
- Palmares
- Chic
- Montreux
And some more of which i can't remember the names
Edit: Does someone around here have some pics of the Meteor interior?

Yes, the 16v style steering wheel was also standard.
Many later spec TX* and TZ* models had this steering wheel as did the later GTi's.
Externally the only differences to the GTI and TZD are the lack of front fog lights and lower lip spoiler on the front bumper.
The meteor had chrome bumper trim inserts too.

Edit: I'll ask the chief over there next week. I'm curious myself as well.

Yeah thnx Is the BX populair in the UK? In Holland there is a small group of hardcore fans (including myself) unfortunately the BX is becoming very rare in the streets of The Netherlandstim leech wrote:I forgot to say welcome to the bxclub of england!

The seats were GTi style in "Halley" velour, which as Ian said is the black with red pinstripes type that the TXS came with. BUT......originally the Meteor was a form of TGS trim. And the TGS didn't have a spoiler, or the GTI style seats.....it had tweed
So the TXS model is actually based on a Meteor. But obviously in all the normal colours and with the TD option.
Looking at the brochure, I can't see any differences over the TXS. The colour is supposed to be Mercury grey only, but again as Ian said others have been sighted.
I really should scan all my brochures in for the site
I think it was literally just a ltd ed to try and spice the range up a bit.

I'll take some pictures of the car next week. I'm still wondering how it got to a scrapyard in the middle of Holland

Just came back from the scrapyard to check on the BX Meteor and took some pics:

There is no sticker on the car with a barcode so it has not been on Dutch plates. The Cornwall sticker on the back kind of proves that
