Yeah, coz then I can p*ss past people in my Frontender and laugh when my mates phone me up to come and rescue them in my truck
Part two of operation clean up on the GTi starts as soon as I can be arsed to go outside. Leave it in the sun to hopefully remove the frost before giving it a final polish and clean the interior whilst I`m there.
Incidentally Phil are you still running the GTi register? Just wondered how many are estimated to survive in this format (series two, phase one I think) in the UK?
Cheers,

Due to lack of interest the register is on the back burner, but I do intend a 'relaunch' at the CCC National... with a distribution of flyers etc...
You don't really want to sell this GTi do you, Billy. Be honest
Fancy joining the register?!

No, I don`t! Especially after giving the interior a bit of a clean and generally being suprised all round just how clean this car is. Most of the usual suspects (glove box hinges, door hinges, doors, sills etc) are very good/excellent and now the boot floor`s been welded and a new rear box exhaust it`s pretty much there.
Heater control cable seized (big suprise) and some minor areas of attention required here and there but I`d suggest way above average, especially for the age.
However the TZD estate will be my main car and I have the Frontender to have a laugh in and I cannot afford to keep 3 cars in tax, MOT and repairs so it has to go.
In fact I`m so confident of the car I`m going to ask winning bidder for a £25 deposit when it goes on eBay and if they come up and look at it and it`s not as good as described I`ll relist it and they don`t have to purchase it.

When it's all cleaned up and 'prepped' are you going to do some stunning photography? (Go on I'll need something for the 2008 calendar, affter all )
I must say I'm tempted - although I don't necessarily ever want to buy back something I've already sold on!
