Jeez, Will you lot chill out! There seems to be serious lack of sense of humour round here, at the end of the day its my car and it suits me! If you dont then thats up to you, if I get pulled for my plates then you can enjoy doing the "told you so thing" cant you.
The GT I think looks very "of the period" with the french style plates and the yellow foglamps, but if the next owner (if it ever has one) wants they can thrown them in the bin as I have a set of plain UK ones and the figlamp paint comes off with thinners.
The most important thing is surely that car is cherished? as is the TRS with its P2 rear lamps and wheeltrims. Both of which can be cahnged back within minutes.
I dont see you giving Matt H grief yet he has the same plates on his very far from original but loved 14TGE or Doc for making his TD look like a valver?

Changing the style of your car and staying within the law is one thing. Making it unlawful is another.
this might be a signature
I don't know, surely on a car like that, and with your reputation, originality is everything.Roverman wrote:Jeez, Will you lot chill out! I think like yellow and white number plates on a 50's/60's car that kind of thing sticks out like a sore thumb and actually spoils the looks because it takes the eye off the rest of the car.
We're not all going to see eye to eye all the time but let's not start taking things personally and resorting to single emoticon answers, or we won't have learnt from the past will we?
Vauxhall apologist.

There was a different and I believe, legal font used on UK cars in the early 80s - a similar sort of mildly squared off font that looked quite special on a proper 80s barge.
Anyone recall what it was called? AFAIK you can still get it from specialists today.
