My ideal BX
What would your real-world ideal BX be? By that I mean not someone's fantasy 20,000 mile 16v turbo estate with air con and seven seats etc etc...
And also I mean - assuming one was to come along - one which would mean you'd just have to have - even it meant selling the BX (or another vehicle) you already have?
Mine? A late '90 to early '92 TZi (1.9 petrol) auto estate with alloys and air (no sunroof), in triton green or dark metallic grey with a good history and in good order. Mileage not particularly an issue but provenance very important...
This is close, but not quite there....

For me it would have to be a Mk1 Estate 1.6 on LPG in white with the 'tabac' colour interior and the full spec of electric things (though I'm not sure that the break had everything the saloon did)
Also it would have to have the original 'Roverman' alloys with the squares.
- quite a simple combo I think

This is almost possible. I know where there is such a beast - very late TZI, A/C, with silver Swift 2 alloys, wooden Heuliez steering wheel. It's parked out the back of a Citroen specialist not too far from here who has owned it from new - it's technically his wife's car but he's recently told me it 'might' be for sale. Left hand drive of course, can't remember the colour but I think it's dark green or blue. Needs some work, I don't know what, I was just trying to snaffle the alloys! Will take a snap next time I'm down there.A late '90 to early '92 TZi (1.9 petrol) auto estate with alloys and air (no sunroof), in triton green or dark metallic grey with a good history and in good order. 19TZi Hatchback auto, in Olympic Blue with grey zenith interior, aircon, front fogs, lots of genuine accessories, oh and delivery mileage!
Or a late Mk1 16TRS auto in Red with Factory alloys and grey interior, power steering and a sunroof, again with silly low miles.
Or a metallic black P2 16v with a french 405 mi16 turbo lump, half leather retrim keeping the original monza pattern, original alloys copied into a 16" design.
Anyone got one hiding?

Great welding game El Bandito! Bodes well for the redemption of the 16v

I've always hankered after leather though. Maybe soon?

So would you modify your shell to fit the 4x4 transmission to it, or find a 4x4 shell and fit the turbodiesel engine to it? It's something I've (idlely) wondered about myself, with the stronger Mi16x4 transfer box. I reckon that you'd only get about 90mph (145km/h) top speed out of it though...but it would get there quickly!

Nice gimp mask!
Matt, no it wasn't a bad one at all. My TGD which I'm scrapping is far worse, especially on the rear chassis legs - it's all gone like puff pastry.
The 16v is pretty good under the skin really but I need to remove all the body kit to see what lies behind. It needs new synchros for 3rd and 4th and cosmetically it's a tad scruffy but it's all part of the fun to get it all right. Platinum grey is the colour of mine Phil.
