100,000 miles

Post by mikesg »

Just as a matter of interest, my K reg TZD estate has just topped 100,000 miles. I bought it ifor £500 in May 2004 having done 56,000, from a chap in Christchurch who'd lost his licence through drink driving. Jonkw has been keeping it in good order over the years (thanks Jon) This is the last but one of about ten BX estates that i've had over the years. The last one now belongs to ed4ferrets, via Jon.
Thats all folks.

Ah. Funny you should say that, Jon. As it happens, regarding our last contact, we need to choose a day to sort the oil leak fairly soon. I'll call you later. All the best.

It's very seldom we see a BX that's done a Million miles Mike.

At the risk of seeming to hijack this thread (apologies chaps!) but it might be interesting to find out who has the highest - and the lowest - mileage BX on here... my GTi has 211,000 and our BXagon estate has 226,000..

As you can see from my signature I don't stand out on either of those scores but I can say that I have owned my BX19TRS (manual) continuously for almost seventeen years since 1992. :D

I expect not many people keep a car for that long.

Well have a look at this one then, my 1986 17RD:

Unfortunetely the mileometer started to play up at 10th Jan 07, it was reading 220378 miles.

Then it went on wheels indicating 100 miles on the drum for each 1 mile travelled... ho hum.

So the actual mileage at 22nd Jan 09 is 227,285 miles.

Still looking for a working cylinder for the Jaeger head...

I'd say that's testament to Jon's loving care, and a bit of incontinence is to be expected 8)

Brian I have a complete dash pod for a Jaeger car, which was from a 19RD if your interested, so like yours it has a clock instead of a rev counter
