It is, but it doesn't stop there being some interesting cars there. I'm not going though. I'm over 12 yrs old

Might pop along... it's only 15 or-so miles down the road.

I've been twice before, I think '03 and '05... Had a great time both times with the BX 16v lot.

I was 13 and 15 years old respectively though, so my judgement may have been impared by all the 'Max Power' women

I have been along three times now.

Had lots of fun in the BX tearing up the drag strip leaving some 106s and Saxos behind.

If it is sunny, it is a good lads day out.

No ta, I can see lots of barried saxos and 306s any day of the week round here and not have to pay £13 for the pleasure. James I would save your money for the CCC autojumble.

I went in 2006 - Bruntingthorpe then - and did enjoy the BX contingent there. Saw a decent (like 'to die for') Renault Turbo II and a few fine ladies too.

I seem to remember we did a BBQ there too.

Imagine it's a bit different now given the explosion in Saxomania etc.

Eh? "Saxomania" started in the late 90's! :?

Still saddens me slightly that all Saxos are tarred with the same brush. I have a lump in my throat and I can feel a tear in the corner of my eye. I think I'll actually lose some sleep now :(

But for what it's worth it's just as worth going to as the national....better cars at FCS, as national is full of old ropey ones with the oddest, quietest owners you've ever seen. Some are men with boobs, very weird!
But for every R21 Turbo, Gordini or Visa GTi at FCS, there will be some muppet in a fibreglass tack box.
And at least you can actually use your car at FCS, not just park it up, walk around listening to some monotonal sleep inducer talking into a 1950's megaphone and go home a couple of hours later having bought another spare rear wiper switch which has lost ever so slightly less of the white detailing than the one you bought last year, or an astray/coin holder which opens a little smoother than the one you currently have from the "autojumble" just to justify actually going and looking around (although I did pick up my genuine downpipe from it, so not all bad!)

It's tit for tat, but the only good part of the national is catching up with the people you know IMO.

These things are important Kitch, I'm thinking of fitting roller bearings to mine as it just feels so harsh at the moment.

Seriously, I agree with you about the shows, the social side is why I go - not to look at the cars. Ironic.

You should try the Annual BL Rally in Peterborough Kitch...

I think it summed it up completely when the first song they played through the P.A system was 'Heartbeat'

Well, in all honesty isn't that why we all go? Once you've seen one DS...
