19RDs are real workhorses, We had one as a family hack for many years, it took us all on holiday to Cornwall every year for five years, two adults, two kids, two dogs with the luggage and bikes on the roof. It finally expired after 375,000 miles when it was sideswiped while parked; with a badly bucked centre pillar it was, sadly, beyond my D.I.Y. skills.
Yes, it did need re-piping when it was about 9 years old, it was done in kunifer needless to say. Both front struts were replaced at about 280,000 miles, and clutches seemed to last for between 80,000 to 100,000 miles. That includes teaching two sons to drive. Yes, a real workhorse, and fun to drive to boot!

Hallo CJMerlin
Is your car still available?
It is a real pity that Roverman couldn't take it on he would really have done it proud.
Have sent you a PM
Best regards,

Have you PM'd 'cjmerlin' as well ?
As he may not log onto the site on a regular basis and if its still available you maybe just in time to 'save it' from meeting its maker !
