Some of you may know that ever since getting "back into BX's" in mid 2005 Ive been hankering after a 19TZi auto, purely as I like the TZ look, especially with the grey velour "Zenith" interior and I prefer automatics.

First colour choice was Olympic Blue but I dont think one exists so I bough the 16TRS and made it look a bit like one, but now Ive finally found an uber rare 19TZi auto in my second favourite colour with lots of factory extras too 8) Mechanically its fine asides a blowing exhaust, the old dear who owned it for 15 years lost all the service history (she is 86 mind) so first to do is change all the fluids and belts. Theres a few bumps and bangs but it made the 160 mile trip from southend home with no problems asides having no radio!

A nice car, Tim. Glad you made it back. Now I'm looking forward to getting used to the St. Tropez as my runabout, as Liz has firmly laid claim to the GTi auto!

There were four BX's outside our house today...

And here's the TZi:

Nice shot Phil. Nice motor Tim!

Did the old dear remember where the car was serviced? I got 12 years of service history from my local garage when I asked them about servicing my BX!

Cambelt and tensioner and service done today plus some new exhaust bits, a good clean and polish has shown up some rather poor paintwork that has been "tin sprayed" in places that will need attending too aswell as the battle scarred bumpers. Both CV joints are perished too, bugger!

The dead radio is now a live CD player and all the dash lights up as it should

When changing the cambelt I poked my head round to see how my mate was getting on and noticed something rather odd, two different shaped spheres, one was a 500ccm and one a 400ccm, one was dated 1998 and the other 2004!

Quick call to GSF remedied that and thanks to Rxbx for offering to fit them so I didnt have to get dirty, also on order is a new aerial as it snapped off when I tried to adjust it

This BX is proving to be quite Expensive!

But it's all relative really. You'll end up with a nice BX of the type and spec you've been hankering after, for less than the cost of a mediocre Fiat Punto or somesuch.

Quick update, the car and I have a bit of a love and hate relationship going on as it fights me all the way it seems, today after a quick wash round the engine bay it wouldnt start for 5 hours even after all the electrics were dried out and checked and of course last week it got a parking ticket! .

Both bumpers and the passenger wing has nice bright fresh paint to remove the scrapes and marks, and a good used drivers door will be going on very soon as the one fitted is badly bent. Pics to follow when its finished (next year probably lol) The nasty towbar is off (anyone want it) and some rear mudflaps are on as are two new headlamps and indicators to brighten up her "smile".

4 are in garages, two at my mums and one on my drive. The 14RE will have to go come spring though as its in the way.
