Finally a pic of your BX, seem to be lacking pics of this beauty on fastfrogs too. By the way it is either TR* or TZ*, because DTR is essentially TRD for the rest of the world except UK, as it sounds like Turd lol.

it is a tzd turbo 1991. i dont know why it has the black panels in the rear quarters?? just seems to be what they do here on nz new ones. no wing, and has the basic interior. unlike the tzd turbo 1991 i had in the uk which had all sorts.lol. but it does have all the fancy bits like electric mirror and stuff. but no sunroof.

Didnt think they went for diesels down under! the UK spec TZD turbo was quite different to some other countries, it was more of a GTi 8v with a diesel engine where elsewhere it was like most other "TZ" models but with the 1769cc TD unit instead hence the rear quater windows etc.

Tim, that car is in New Zealand, not Auz. Is it the same situation as Auz in that diesel cars arent that popular?

yeah not that far away 1000 miles or something.
yeah the tzd i had in the uk was like a gti 8v. this i am trying to make into a decent looking car.
there is 7 bx's in nelson and the majority are tzd. so they did have an impact here. but they do love there petrol engines as the fuel here is still reasonably priced.
i am looking to get rid of the black rear quaters.
but i will do that when i cut the drivers side rear quater off and replace it with a known good one. as there has been a shit repair in the past and it does not look good.
the rust is no issue in NZ just the monkeys that repair cars, she'll be right is not good enough.

Why dont you just get a solid inner trim for the quarter window and paint over the outside section? What model cx is that?

Dont throw those rear 1/4 windows away if the y are ingood nick as they are VERY hard to get hold of!

I must admit i prefer them with the smoked glass/plastic rather than the solid colour, & as Tim say's, rare to have them in good nick as they tend to craze....
