I took some photo's whilst Tim and I, were on a visit to Oxford in August last year, of the infamous White 'N' Reg. TZD whilst it was in James/Tourist's ownership and whilst it still had some TAX/MOT !

So as James preferred that I did not host them until he'd got the TZD to a 'Roverman' gleaming White and promised he'd host some better one's,
I therefore respected his wish, in the interim period we only got a GLIMPSE of this gem !

Well with the full permission/authority of Kevan he would like them hosted for all the forum member's to see :D

So Kevan if you read thro' THIS post (indeed if you've not read thro' it before ? ) you'll find a post where in fact it was discovered that the TZD
was actually registered on the January 1st 1996, so you need to change your signature to reflect this

Also I hope you fully look after this unique BX and cherish as it fully deserves, all the best with it and I hope it serves you well !

Regards

Thanks for that Richard I wanted the chaps to be able to see it but I am strugling with posting pics on this forum it appears to be different than other forums I've been on and I'm not the best with computers.

It's a coincidence you've posted them tonight as it is hitting the road again tomorrow all cleaned and T cutted. :D
Signature now corrected

Thanks for the compliments chaps and don't worry this car is intended for long term ownership, I'm not new to BX ownership, it isn't a passing whym and it will be well looked after. It will be used only by me as a second car along side my land rover (Sold my current one replacement actively being sought) which I use for my regular weekend hobby of scuba diving. It's in good hands and will be mostly garaged.

One question I wanted to ask was about the plastic inserts on the door handle apeture, how many cars were fitted with these I've never seen any before and they are properly molded fitted items so I assume factory fit?

I've been searching without success for the ENVY emoticon :)

The door handle inserts were available as an accessory.
They think it's all over, it is now!

This was 1 of 2 identical cars. No idea when the other one was registered but they were both unsold until alteast 1995. There's always a chance the other didn't sell or has been scrapped but it might be around somewhere.

It's in better hands with you now Kevan, although I do "maintain" my cars (services, a wash and vacuum every now and again) this one's better in someone else's hands because it is special after all.

Dear Kevan.
What a little cracker she is Kevan. How many miles has she done ?
is it all original paint then Kevan ? very nice wheeltrims too.
I used to have a spotless white 1982 SAAB 99 that I used to polish
every lunchtime with liquid diamond polymer sealant polish. The paint-
work was as hard as nails after 6 years.
I still polish my cars alot, a car should get better the longer you
own it. I have a silver 1988 SAAB 900i that I bought with one owner
FSSH. 60,000 miles. She has 69,000 miles on her now. and I have had
her for 12 years now car is still as new no wear what so ever.
I had a red 1960 mark one A40 Farina for 24 years, but that did rot
away like billy-o.
All cars have feelings, they just love to be cherished and spoilt
rotten and be shown off.
Best wishes with your BX even if it is a Diesel.

If you're going to flog a car, a 'scrub up' is a bit of a no brainer really. Although, I find 'Autoglym' a bit over-rated (and expensive). I'm more of a 'Turtle wax' kinda guy! :D

edit; Just seen the pics - VERY nice! ^^bx>

Hi Vince, welcome to the club and thank you for the nice comments. Yes it is a cracking car I'm really pleased with it. It has now done a genuine 84,000 genuine miles and has a complete comprehensive service history. It is tha family bus used every day for school runs and the like and it is now my plan to keep it for the entire lifespan of the car (hopefully many years to come).
The work I have had to do on it so far apart from regular maintenance is;
Rear crankshaft oil seal with a new clutch fitted whilst the box was out (although the old clutch appeared to be perfect and is now in my spares stock)
New genuine water pump and full timing belt kit (£287  )
Heater fan repair (as per the sticky in Tecknical FAQ)
Front brake caliper service. (slider pins seizing)
Welding and waxoiling to rear boot area behind rear bumper with the coroded metal totally cut out and replaced (Car now totally rust free).
I have replaced the steel wheels with graphite speedlines and fitted all new Mitchelins but kept the original steels and wheel trims for possible future use / show use.
It is all original paint and it is my intention to do some remedial work to it next year with the rear boot spoiler needing prepping and repainting as it is flaking / coroding around the mounting areas. And both bumpers need repainting as they are pealing slightly on the casting seams.
Overall we are made up with the car and love the zero depreciation and unpretentious drive.
I also have an equally nice (if not better) TGD Auto as my personal car which is about to turn a genuine 70,000 clicks tomorrow \:D/ ^^bx>
