Paul296 mentioned yesterday we need to get something moving soon about banners etc for 30 years of the BX, Phil are you still ok to do this please?.

Any suggestions/volunteers.

I'm happy to design stuff and supply files, but I can't spare the time to arrange, so someone else would have to liaise with suppliers - get costs etc.

I see there are a few slices missing labels, but where are the BXs?

There are more C15s than BXs going right now, it appears!

I can't remember which car I said I would be taking when I booked - probably the 2CV. I'm still trying to work out if I can get both there, but the BX is definitely going to go if it's working.

I am on the cusp of getting a sponsorship deal sorted out which will see the Challenge (well my 'team') get some much needed support, but more importantly will get the BX Club/30th Anniversary ICCCR/NEC display materials funded... watch this space.

Not many modern one's going either, i was amazed at how many tractions & ds are going to attend.

The problem with modern Citroens are that they're for the most part too mainstream.

With the exception of the C6 and a few of the higher spec C5's, there's nothing really remarkable about the current range, with some of it being little more than a badge engineering program with another manufacturer. While this may help with the overall sales, it means that those of us who like Citroens because of the engineering, the quirkyness, or because they're like nothing else on the road have to either hang on to their older cars (like I do), or buy elsewhere. I know several ex Citroen owners that are now running Subarus, for example.

The result of the above is that the majority of modern Citroen owners are not enthusiasts, so have no interest in a Citroen club or event.

The general public aren't fans of any car marque tbh, but i did suspect that there might be a few saxo's, ax's, ZX's turning up, but no

Infact, where are the BX's on that pie chart, either i'm going blind or i missed them? I've registered mine, so it should have least said 1 Unless of course they've ballsed up the registration & when i turn up they'll say i haven't paid

When I first joined the CCC fifteen or so years ago that definitely seemed to be a prevailing attitude in some quarters. I just don't think that's the case anymore. Infact the BX/Xantia/XM 'axis' increasingly seem to be among the most visible and enthusiastic members.

This 'sponsorship deal' of yours sounds intriguing Phil - I'm glad that's all moving forward.

It probably will go full circle as the majority of the snobby types are dodging coffins these days, with their cherished cars falling into the hands of younger owners. Add to that the fact the BX is quickly developing a little niche corner of it's own then hopefully it'll cement its place at the CC table.

I do aim to go to ICCCR, even though it would be closer if it was in Calais purely because I think it's one you can't miss, so I'll be doing my bit anyway

I hope so - and it does seem to be the case. The Citroenian was where the 'have/have not' divide was most visible. The full colour 'Semantics' (SM) pages had;

'Our tour to the vineyards of Chateau Laffite via the Goodwood festival of speed and a light stop off at Bonhams to buy some cars for a shit load of cash'

while over at 'BXChange';

Well I think there are probably more poor people in the UK than rich Tim It doesn't really alter the attitude towards them.
