Hi Kevin

That would excellent, I have to go up to Diss to collect the car and could pick it up on the way home. Thank you.

OK, I'll let you know - depends on sweet-talking my parents into dropping it off at my sister's house next week.

I have a related question!!!! Is there a hatch towbar available that doesn't involve relocating the spare wheel ? I understand they are not the same towbars for estate and hatch?
Thanks

Never seen one (hatch or estate) that needed relocating the spare wheel... They normally go either side of the spare wheel and bolt to the members either side.
Estate and hatch are different as you say - estate bodywork has an extra bit grafted on the back so it's further from mounting points to where the towball needs to be. I've modified hatch ones for the estate in the past no problem - just extended the mounting brackets.

Strange - my first bx, a 14 hatch - I don't even know what model it was only that it was on an F plate - had a tow bar fitted but I ended up with the spare in the boot! I wonder if the bloke who fitted the tow bar just took the spare off and I never put it back because I'm stupid? I seem to remember being told that the spare would have to be kept in the boot, so maybe it was a non-standard tow bar...

Anyway, thanks for the advice :)

Thank you, that would be great. I have just come back from collecting the BX from Diss but will be returning to Suffolk soon.

Whereabouts in Suffolk? Might be able to arrange a drop-off that's more convenient than Manningtree...

Thanks Kev, my house is very remote, on the Shotley peninsular, many miles from anywhere so Manningtree would be the best option I think, thank you.

No, as it turns out Manningtree's not the best option after all. h 8)
Best option is to give it to my step-cousin in a couple of week's time, who'll hopefully give it to his brother, who works in and out of Fox's Marina and the other marinas down there (he's a marine engineer) and, I think, actually lives in Shotley Gate nowadays. Worst case is you'd need to pick it up in Ipswich or Sproughton. :D
All of which is just as well, as parents have kicked up about finding room for a pointy, awkward, mucky thing (the towbar, not me) in the back of their pristine and already over-stuffed eurobox. Cousin won't care as he'll be in a builder's van.

How is the peninsular these days? I used be in and out of there a lot 20-something years ago - girlfriend's mum was a teacher at Woolvo Hall - spent many a pleasant evening down at the Boot.

Hi
That sounds great. I am near to Shotley Gate, could arrange to pick it up there or Ipswich or Sproughton etc no problem.
The peninsular is still very quiet, the Freston Boot pub is closed and up for sale, the Shotley Boot turned into a tea room and then a private house many years ago. The only pubs that do OK are the Butt and Oyster at Pin Mill, part of a small chain I think, and the pubs in Shotley that are open but not all the normal hours I think.
Still, the nearest police office is now at Capel St Mary so the drinking and driving should not be an issue... it is just belts tightening all round I think.

Got one sitting around if you still need one, although it\'d need electrics!
