 I think Kermit's got his hands full getting The Green Hornet back on the road! And as for me, well I have a bit of a daft plan afoot.

But I'm not going to advise against rescuing these babies, it's just that it would be prudent to consider just how bad they could be... :)

But you only need to save the rear wings and the infill panels and you can rebuild it on a normal GS break... It's the rear wings that are the rare bit – although I did buy a new old stock pair a couple of years ago.
Mate of mine here has done a few like that - latest one (sporting the NoS wings I'd found) was done up in yellow and Citroen dealer service livery. Nice.

Nobody has commented on how nice the grey and red BXs are in the first photo but we're all salivating over the wrecked and rusty! We are a strange lot!

Sorry guys but you're gonna have to wait a little longer to see the GT and GS Service Van (or what's left of it) as i'm having Photobucket 'issues' this afternoon. Will try to get them up here as soon as possible :?

Such a shame to see quite rare cars just slowly disintergrating. If they've been on that grass for any length of time, surely they are rotten :?:

Makes me think of the place my 16v came from. Criminal that desirable, collectible Citroens are just left to rot by someone purporting to be a Citroen enthusiast in that case.

I trust the same cannot really be said of this situation. Can it?

What, and reduce the number of GS estates on the road by one  !!! I'm afraid I'd be mad enough to try rebuilding the van as it is, even though I have an estate that would make a good donor, as it would mean that it would eventually be another GS on the road 8) . I wonder if my Mum would let me put it in her garage in Shinrone (Eire)? alternatively, If I could find a home for the ambulance, I have the perfect spot in my barn next to my mate's Ami Super Service 8)

Wow what a find.

Potentially exciting, but i'm just thinking, how far west are we talking? The very west of NI is pretty near the atlantic.. rough salty sea air .. you know what that means. Worth checking out though. For rare original models, its nothing a few weekend's work couldn't restore?

...still missing my BX

I think even if the cars are beyond saving the MK1 lights indicators interior parts alone must be worth the salvage attempt.

is that not "2" mk1 estates?? and RHD?
they need saving! sounds like a "BX CHALLENGE" to me!! there's enough of us to make it worth while, and the GS (or is it GSA?) van is certainly worth saving, most parts are available, think rob moss may have some van wings??
so, who is going to co ordanate this rescue??!!!!

Bloody hell! There must be more Mark 1's in that stash than the rest of Britain put together!

To be fair, I've had Bx's that have been dragged out of fields and they were no worse than ones that have been on the road all their life. Guess it just depends on the local conditions, drainage etc. and what it was like before it was put there of course.

If I had any space I'd be well up for a rescue mission but sadly I don't at the moment. Wouldn't mind coming along for the rescue mission though :D
