yea i was the 2nd owner of the car like your make said it came from finchingfield in essex where my workshop was. i did buy it for spares and parked it up i got it because the first owner took it to citroen for a clutch who promptly talked the man into a xantia. thats how i came about it. it was then parked up at my workshop until i had to get rid of it. it was never used to store parts until it was collected and all my bx spares went with the the car.

it did have faded paint but does come up good with a pollish.

i really do wish i could buy the car but with xmas and a lack of funds i cant. someone will have a lovely car with a few little issues that you get weather you spend 1000 or 100. also the mileage i mentioned earlier was from anothe gti i broke and not this one.

I'm taking the car on from Mr Torsten. He and I have known each other for years and I absolutely trust his opinion, valuation and honesty. Torsten and I swap/sell each other at least 3 cars a year.

Exactly what I am looking for really, at the moment my motoring is lacking some spark - my wife has a Volvo 850 AWD estate that is very quick but as my 205 Gti was nicked 2 months ago I am using a Volvo 240 estate and a 1975 Sherpa Autosleeper as my dailys both of which are on the gutsy side and not exactly inspiring to drive.

I did look at replacing the 205 Gti - it was a 1.6 but I do have some issues with the lift off oversteer and my wife was reluctant to let me take the little ones in it.

I am a big citroen fan though and have owned several BXs and CXs, and XMs - in the 1990s my daily was a TzD Estate in White and i loved it - I have always been looking for a Gti and ideally an 8v rather than the 16v mainly for simplicity sake.

This is a perfect rolling project for me - I am not concerned with the lack of originality over the alloys or the tow bar - I'll make a call on keeping both when I see it. The indicator lenses I will match up form somewhere. Red paint of this vinatge seems to suffer from oxidisation more than other colours - I find a dose of meguirs wax helps a lot and restrict the t cut to the bonnet.

are the foggies the same as on the 205 Gti - sealed units? If so i have a pair of brand new ones if not I would be grateful if the member who mentioned he had them could drop me a pm. Also I would like the parcel shelf.

I love BX's and have been looking for one as a daily for a while now. I was looking for one last year but bought a wonderful XM VSX instead - rare as you like 2.0lt turbo petrol and quick but when it started to play up I got rid of it - I know BXs can be costly to keep on the road but XMs are in a different league.

as said above glad its going to a good home. as for the foglights no they are not the same as 205 ones but im sure they could be retro fitted.

First post and it's an ad, sorry! I was put onto this site by Mr Dollywobbler! I have always loved Citroens of this era but mainly had CX's, this is my second BX, the first one (a GTi) I had about twelve years ago and it blew up within a week, it was a lovely thing though! This one I got off a friend, I like it but don't love it! It's got tax until the end of May 2011 and MOT until April, 109k, Full History pretty much and a few little bumps, good tyres, brakes and handles nicely, rattly exhaust and parcel shelf missing but I am not keen, anyone fancy it? £575 would buy it as is! I am up for swaps, British cars mainly, motorcycles or anything really!

Fog lamps are different to 205 GTi (they're the same as mk1 BX ones).

BX mk2 uses the same as 309GTi (they have a fog and a spot lamp lens each side), AX GT/GTI (spot lamp lens) and 405 Mi16 (fog lamp lens).
