According to the original BX accessory catalogue, Citroen called them 'Plaque bicolore réflectorisante'. Snappy name, huh...?

Couldn't resist...!

On another subject, noticed you've got an MZ Scorpion. Great fun those - I highsided one of them once, on German TV...

All-bran stuff to me! I'd hate to highside my Skorp! They're great fun, quick and very nimble - but a very twitchy bike for a 660!

Presumably, that was one of them orifice opening experiences you remember forever .............

Happily they don't float my boat so not something I would ever be looking for.

Indeed... it was a support race for the German GP at the Sachsenring, 1999 I think. I'd been scraping the fairing and everything else just about everywhere every lap for most of the race (turned out later everyone else had taller rear suspension linkages for more ground clearance - my borrowed bike was the only one on the grid that didn't!). Took a different line round a fast right while passing someone – hit a bump and levered the back wheel off the floor. It went sideways so far and for so long I had time to think, "Cor, bet that looks good', and 'I think I might get away with it..' before it gripped and spat me so high in the air I was briefly a plot on the local air traffic control...
Didn't break anything, but bashed myself up so I couldn't walk for a week. My wife had to drive the thousand-odd miles back from there to here, and I had to sit with my leg stuck out the window (note to self, don't stick bruised leg out of window as bee-strike at 70mph is excruciating). That was the first trip we ever did in our first BX - the 16TRS estate (phew, back more or less on topic right at the end...!).
