Nice job, nothing quite like an immaculately clean engine bay & engine :D

Why are you thinking of changing to lds? I thought it was quite a bit more expensive than lhm & won't the current hydraulic set-up fail as lds is quite diffferent, seems like a lot of potential extra work & hassle for no benefit?

LHM is mineral based oil, and have changing period about 60 000kms, LDS is fully synthetic, and in C5 have period about 200 000kms ..and theoretically the parts will be in better condition than with lhm.. i think

No idea tbh, i'd heard that if you put in lhm into an lds car it buggered everything up, thats why i thought the same thing would happen the other way round. If i'm wrong fair enough & look forward to some more posts about how you are going to do it & what modifications if any you'll have to do. Perhaps various seals might not work? It would make a change to see an orange stain on a drive rather than a green one

thats what im afraid of.. lds and lhm are not mixable..and i cant get out all lhm from system.. so, i will use lhm for this time because its cheaper and i plan litlle changes on hydraulic circle.. some antisink spheres from xantia, and maybe hydractive :P

now im getting informations about anti sink and hydractive modifications.. one man from czech bxclub have it,

Hey TycoonX,

Is the LDS conversion impossible because you can't remove all the LHM? or because you LHM parts aren't compatible with LDS? and if they aren't compatible do you know why?

I've been wondering if a new electric high pressure pump from a C5 could be put in a BX and run on LHM.

Also if you have anymore pictures and information on the Hydractive activa type suspension I'd love to see it.

Cheers,
Chris

C5 is too complicated.. not the hydraulic circuit but the electronics , electric pump is operated by BHI (block hydraulique integree) and the BHI is operated by BSI central electronic unit.. too many cables and work to get it run

yes i cant remove all LHM, and the lhm and lds are not mixable (few people filled C5 with LHM and have a big problem :D ) so i think with bx will be the same problem

if you are looking for hydractive its easier is to apply older version of hydractive, similar is xantia hydractive but still more complicated..and runs on LHM

We've tried LDS to LHM car and we dont have any problems with it.

Other car is XM and other Xantia Activa.

XM got LDS about 4 years ago, Activa got it 1 year ago.

We didn't get all LHM out of the system.

And as we're in Finland, there sure is all kinds of weather, -30 celsius to +30 celcius :P

I wouldn't try putting LHM to LDS car tho :P
