That was the local Pilsner - Fürstenberg. It was a private brewery for 700 years then the deviant/transvestite/waster heir to the estate blew it all living a decadent life in Venice!
The brewery was bought by the Heineken group about five years ago but it's still business as usual and the same quality. Actually when I was in Ledbury two years ago they had Fürstenberg on tap at one of the pubs there for a fiver a pint! Probably a direct result of the Heineken distribution network.
I alway try to carry as many cases as I can when I come over but it's generally wiped out by the first few people that we visit and then I end up drinking tins of Courage Best for the rest of our visit!

Your van made me very nostalgic Todd - it's amazing what you can get up to in the back of a Merc with a tube of KY-Gel

Now when I look back at the pics, I can't help but see a worried expression on Pelops' face...

that's just a look of anticipation...

I actually found the tube of KY-Jel in the van when I moved into it. I'm so tight I couldn't bring myself to dump it so I kept it in case of hard times

Nice story. And an Avantime!! Hmmmmm.

When we climbed to the top (almost) of the Col Du Galibier in the coolant-leaking Green Tiger during the BXagon, we found a cafe at the top with an Avantime outside!

Hang on, that's a family van fellas! :D My wife used to go out in that every summer from when she was a toddler after the father-in-law converted it from a furniture van. He gave it to us a few years ago.. never been any untoward activities in it of course!

I swear, no-one would want to be a clinch with Pelops once you got a load of his breath! :o

So this is how the story ends.. I dug this thread up again to show the fate of the ole TRD. I urgently need space in the barn to accomodate the new larger family oriented wheels so I attacked it with a large angle-grinder. It's not something that I want to do again - horrible, dirty and dangerous. I got probably about twenty litres of 2009 diesel out of the tank though which I was running around on today. The body was surprisingly rust free. I say that now it's baked bean can fodder! The pipework was awful and the rear floor, front inner arches were cactus. Anyway RIP mon ami.

I'm coming round to your place next Tim, now I've got a taste for grinding up BXs

( If you rewind to the front of the thread you'll see which one and where it came from)
