I just have www.bxclub.co.uk/forum saved in my browser, brings me straight here without seeing the front page at all.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Likewise, but I agree the front page needs an update. If Xac is happy for one of us to have FTP access to the hosting then that would simplify things - I can do basic web pages and make changes to what we have to keep things current.

And if anyone does have more time for design then they're welcome to volunteer!

Someone's already mentioned the fact that the forum is a technical goldmine. Could we extract the best bits to create a database of fixes? The problem I see with that is would it take away some of the forum's dynamism?

My view is that we should have a club 'home page' with a brief overview of the BX and some informative/evocative pics, plus a nice big link to the forum. And that's it. Why complicate it? The forum has a Technical FAQs section that I guess could be expanded to include as much of the 'goldmine' of technical tips.

We're going to keep the BXDiy section aren't we? and the links? both of which could be perhaps updated with some (extra) new contributions?

Sorry, I didn't make my thoughts clear enough I guess.  Keep some other links there, just make the Forum link the main one. Lose a few of the existing links. Possibly retain the links to DIY and Specialists (although these could be linked to via the forum Technical section?). Modify a section so the why a BX? facts and model range are combined into The Citroen BX, along with some informative pics, and the downloads (brochures).

If more than one person has FTP access that could actually complicate things  if xac is willing then folks could just send code they would want to appear in the page.
Why complicate it?
Agreed - but with the current code taking just a tad under 14K it's pretty simple and efficient code right now (with my download speed slightly quicker than a ballpoint pen at a steamy 4.7Kb/S   the page still appears quickly).

Maybe in the short term it just needs the BXagon logos replaced with pic-links to the forum and any references that are felt to be outdated removed / changed.

Anyone Googling (or Yippying - other search engines are available :-) ) bxclub is going to be able to find the forum anyway because that's where the traffic is so I don't see it as a great problem.

Oh - did I mention mugs ?

Ahh - no I didn't - in that case...

I had some correspondence with an eBay purveyor of mugs - he has a Granada design which features the MK2 but in it's 'pre facelift' form so I wanted something more modern ('82 to '85 version :-) ). All his mugs are £8 incl P&P - whether it's one of his 'standard' designs or if it's a one-off from artwork sent by the customer.

Any interest ?

You're right - I think I meant to include that in the 'stickers' conversation :-)

I'd like to see an updated list of recommended garages, and maybe some integration of the technical FAQs/stickys from here with "BX DIY", there's some good stuff in both.

Andy (Xac) actually hosts the site so probably best to talk to him directly, Jim looks after the backups. As I understand it, the way the pages are originally written makes it difficult/time consuming to update. I had been going through the BX DIY section, and copying sections to the Tech FAQ section for greater visibility/searchability, but haven't for a while...

Ive sent a quick message to Jim to see what his thoughts are, looking at the front page its about 5 years since the last time it was updated?. The gallery page needs sorting as I dont think any of the cars on there are still with the same owners or on the road anymore.
