Had my heater sound like that on Gloria bud. One of the foibles of owning a MK 1 BX. They are getting a tad old.

Try opening all the interior vents with the blower on full - and be prepared for an influx of leaves and stuff...
Sometimes this IS the cause of the noise. If not well, just as you say, getting old along with the rest of us.

I like that it's Foibles, I will add it to the rest of the list of it's Foibles to be sorted out after the winter solstice.

Re: My MK1 BX 19 DTR Saloon
Well I have had the car for six months now so I have got a list of foibles which I am looking forward to working on, and I have already started getting parts.
Today I have booked the car in for a pre M.O.T for next Wednesday just to see how she will do, although it has still got six months left on the old M.O.T.
When booking in the car, the garage proprietor told me this was car of his era, and his father ran a fleet of taxi Citroen Xantia and this is how he learned his trade, how good is that, I hope I do not end up making him rich
I have been looking at the technical pages on this website and I am seriously impress for someone like myself who knows absolutely nothing about the Citroen bx its a god send

Yes Tim and very much appreciated along with the spare instrument panel which has given me a much greater understanding of how it all works and what type of lamps are required, which I have ordered up, I am sure it will be OK, but if not that is what having a old car is all about, they are no fun when they are perfect, believe me when I say having had, years of having Honda's and pacing up and down waiting for something to go wrong which never does is maddening , it is fun at first but I do miss working on cars.
Tim it is Good to hear from you.

think those rear arms could do with a refurb /\. looks well used and same colour as my old MK1 16RS estate which also carried many battle scars yet never let me down. rip C220OCF.

Rear arms on the DTR? Hope not! Ken did them when I got it and they have done about 2000 miles since!

Re: My MK1 BX 19 DTR Saloon
Guess who’s back....
Yes I’ve had my DTR back, always regretted it.
It disappeared for a while and was purchased by a fellow enthusiast 3 years ago and had some resto work to the screen surround, a new screen and dashboard, some new Michelin tyres and mechanical work.
So she’s in great order but has a few jobs to do here and there and needs a good valet before being tucked away for winter.
I do love that dash!

She’s taxed and out and about, getting it cleaned up and started tackling a few jobs.
Sanded and painted the sills, scrubbed the seats and carpets. Refitted the stickers and Adjusted and painted the exhaust.
Still plenty to do including the roof which needs painting and sorting the very slack gear shifter
