MULLEY wrote:I average anywhere between 50-53mpg doing my daily commute to work & back which is a mixture of driving. Motorway driving i can get 58mpg as i drive quite steady as the engine noise isn't so bad when doing 3000rmp in 5th gear, that equates to 63mph  This is in my 1.9n/a TXD. Never had the tzd on the road long enough to record any details & fuel was a damn site cheaper then so i never bothered....
3000 rpm equates to around 80 mph in my TZD

Having a look through my "May 89" brochure/pricelist the last year of RD models gained the electric sunroof and tinted windows/sunblinds options before becoming a TGD in early 90. So if its a late F or early G plate it could indeed have the extra goodies!.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

You have some quite rare and interesting BX's amongst your collection Richard. You need a transporter to get them all to Wetherby :)

ahh, that explains it then, mine is July 1989!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Should have mentioned Smiffy that the speedo is showing 70mph at those revs, it lies & satnav says i'm actually doing 63, i wondered why i thought everyone at 1st was driving bloody fast these days

Whats interesting though is that i never thought that i could actually drive that slow for long distances, even though i know i'm only travelling at that speed, because i look at the speedo & its showing a higher speed it feels fine??? Perhaps the 1st stages of dementia
