Re: White 16TZS
Today I had to make a trip out to Long Eaton (College Street) which is only two streets away from Wellington Street, I thought I'd drive past the Indy Citroen garage to see if the White TZS is still there ?
And yes it was, but not looking so White as in the photo /\
So it obviously never got Sold !

Re: White 16TZS
I went to look at this car today and got taken out for a spin in it- wouldn't let me drive it!
It didn't feel as nice as my 16TZS so a combination of that and trying another couple of diesels recently has revived my interest in finding an engine for my 16.
Anyway he was cleaning it up as someone from Liverpool is going to view it this weekend.
It's very solid, apart from usual early signs of rust in the seam of wheel arch under air filter- other side ok, and driver's side door hinge showing beginning signs but nothing serious. However passenger side rear c pillar is v rusty and crusty/no holes, driver's side c-pillar has small rust hole. All sortable IMO. Sills need rust sorting, mostly surface. Underneath very good, had look with a lamp up on the ramp. A very solid car, sortable in the DIY rust prevention fashion.
Struts nice and smooth, front spheres fine but don't feel entirely up to pressure. Lhm tank needs a good clean!
Back spheres good, signs of slight camber on driver's side rear wheel but no arm bearing noises and moving freely.
Engine sounded particularly sweet. Small 3-4mm hole in mid exhaust easy repair but generally good.
Autobox was changed at 50k apparently. Car done 87k.
All round clean. Outside bodywork good and straight everywhere, would polish up v nicely.
Steering light. Engine oil v clean.
Clean inside. Tweed needs a little clean and hot/cold temp dial broken, could be glued.
Would make a nice car for someone.
A figure of £850 was mentioned as is, £1000 with new cambelt and MOT without rust sorting.
Bit steep but he might come down I reckon if be realises that is unrealistic.
I'd rather sort my 16TZS so I won't be going for it.
Copes Garage, ask for Mark. This car was his dad's. last on road in 2004 but driven every month or two he says since then. ( home and back)
Needs to be saved- ie rust, I think it could be a great classic.

Re: White 16TZS
1.6 petrol autos still struggle (the guy interested in WTF rang to today to check it WASNT an auto, if it was he didnt want it), but they are getting rare now, and if its sorted then that figure would be reasonable, its been sat a while though! I imagine it would clean up a treat though!
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....
