Yes Tom the Jensen FF had the Dunlop Maxaret system which I believe came originally from the aircraft industry and was being investigated with a view to its fitting to commercial vehicles.
I believe it was revived by BMW in the late 70's in more or less its present electronic form. I seem to remember BMW saying that they thought it was so important for safety that they weren't going to patent it but this was probably claiming as much credit for something that they couldn't patent as it used existing technology.
My question was 'who first fitted it to a diesel?'
