Thats a serious doozer, and those wheel trims are a rarity now. I cant find em anywhere.

Love the splitty too. We have a T25 on our drive. The gearbox started to seaze up on the way home from France this summer, then the gearstick snapped off when we were coming off the ferry at Portsmouth!

Enjoy.

Thanks! Wheel trims all in good nick too which is nice!

T25s are cool but you need something older for reliability! We tookOlive to Italy this summer and no issues other than the dynamo brushes losing contact a couple of times. Also done Spain twice without issue (that's the kiss of death!)

On the Citroen, if anyone's got a spare o/s/f wing knocking about (pref red) please let me know.

Thanks!

James

Lovely BX. On the wing front, unless it's rusty, won't that/those dent(s) benefit from Mr. Dentmaster or somesuch?

Your story is very heartening but taking a Split or Bay window abroad isnt for me. Too many horror stories im afraid, and doing 55mph to the south of France aint for me, handsome beasts though they are. Plus the extra space in the T25 is handy.

I love the VDub campers in all guises. Im very keen to get the T25 on the road again. Its on a sorn and will hopefuly get some attention in the new year ready for spring.

I dunno'. It's got a kind of post-apocalyptic charm? If the BBC made some terrible dramamentary about a killer disease that wiped out the human race, the hero (and his girlfriend) would drive around in one of them? Or maybe a program where a bunch of kids (and their dog) got into adventures involving caretakers dressed up as ghosts?

That's a very nice BX there Jmcc - is that one known to the club or 'other?' I'm not really up to speed with threads around here!

Also that VW bus is great - any chance of some more pics? Is it standard or with the obligatory 'slam?'

Good combination of vehicles.

all stretched tyres, chalkboard bonnets and garlands hanging from the rear view mirror
now i'm lost.
and i'm not sure i want to know. :? Lets get this thread back on track.

Bob Geldof. Bono, there we go, both old Dubs. Perhaps even air-cooled on occasion.

I think 'stretched tyres' means banded wheels where the old steelies have an extra rim welded on ( don't try at home) - also known as 'Euro style' and 'chalkboard bonnet' is surely matt black paint? The 'garlands' bit I can't comment on unless that also includes a load of old tat shoved on a wooden roof-rack.

As for Geldoff and Bonio they really belong in this thread too Max! :D

Edition 38 is a vw based forum where the norm seems to be
slammin or lowering the cars so they are totally unsuitable for road use,
painting the bonnets in matt black so thay can be written on ,
putting a retro style roof rack on complete with wicker picnic hamper
and a hawaian style garland on the rear view mirror.

They then add "scene tax" to the price of the car when they come to sell it.

being as golf's were probably one of the best engineered cars evah , they really dont need all this messing about.
