just had a very pleasant drive back from Rye in the meteor
first impressions not bad.

tick over wouldent drop below 1500 revs towards the end of the 125 mile journey but have been out and started it again and it seems fine now,
heater control jammed on cold despite the heater tap being rebuilt last year so may be cables.
sun roof wouldent open but now do's
radio dosent work ,
but apart from that very happy

Looks smart. Have you tried moving the heater tap by hand? It's a bit of an acrobatic struggle, but can be done.

Dear Susan
She does look very nice doesn,t she 8) Mine has the same problem
with the heater tap stuck in the cold position, BBRRR :!: it is possible
to lay on your back in the drivers footwell and reach the heater tap
mine is all connected with the rods and the cables all in place, but just
appears to be something in the way of the rods somewhere. :!: I don,t
want to force them and damage anything at the moment :!: but good
luck with sorting it out.
Hope this helps.
Vince.

Mines at 750 now, it was awful before, you can adjust them, maybe a good dose with some carb cleaner may help

Nice original dealer plates too, always nice to see.

until the old boy gave it to the garage it was one owner, not sure if the garage sent off the old V5 ( an old blue one came with the car , the back was filled in in the garages name but not sure if they ever sent it off)

If these are anything like 2CV carbs, the mechanism gets all gunked up and the throttle doesn't shut properly. Always worse after a run. I have no idea about BX carbs though having never owned a non-injected one.

hows the pup settling in Andy?

the wife's goingto drive the BX for the first time tomorrow, lets see how she gets on with it,
a lot of money was spent on the car over the last couple of years
£1300 in may2010 for a head overhaul
skim, pressure test etc, timing belt, water pump.
over £500 was for the 14 hours labour put into it

really enjoying the meteor, the wife and I almost fight over the keys to drive it. Only dissapointment so far is that unlike vw citroen dont seem to pre wire there cars fir extras like the remote locking module in the roof, doors open panel etc

Not on the meteor mate no, which of course is a 16RS/TGS. The 16TZS did have it.

Ive had a toad aftermarket kit fitted to my 89 16TRS which works great
