le wrap d'bublé ? Probably not.

Oh hey, Google Translate says "film á bulles" (the accent on the A the other way, but I can't figure that out), "papier bulles", or just plain "bulles", I reckon any would be comprehended.

I found this today whilst I was sorting out a load of 'stuff' at my Dad's . . .

Image

That's me in 1992 (age 28) leaning against the current in a long line of Volkswagens that my Dad owned. In the background, an interesting example of weird French tin. Well, I say 'interesting'; it is if you like that sort of thing!

He lost it selling his car. Usually David (my brother) and I wouldn't let him get involved in buying and selling cars because he routinely got taken to the cleaners. He did on that occasion - he loved that plate. They were his initials and he bought it when he was fifty.

@ Mat - yes, I'm good at looking laid back - it hides the neurotic mess underneath! :D

Shaun came over this afternoon to do the bit of welding that needed doing on the TGD and have a quick recce round the Hurricane to see what it needed to get it roadworthy for Wetherby in May. One small initial problem was that I had two batteries neither of which had any charge (it's a long story). I should, of course, have disconnected the battery on the Hurricane during such a long cold snap - but I didn't. I have now however, AND have a trickle charger ack-cher-lee so . . . shut up

There's a bit of Photoshop lens flare in this one for added moodiness/drama . . .

The welding itself took rather longer than anticipated as there was rather more of it than anticipated. I thought there was just a small hole in one corner, whereas in actual fact, there was a medium sized hole in the corner, two holes on the side wall (one large[ish] and one small) as well as two small holes on the boot floor. Anyway . . .

. . . jobs a good 'un. =D>

Off up to Mark's shortly - down Lancaster way - for a bit of general servicing, inane banter and general tea/coffee drinking. Apparently his clothes hardly fit him these days and he has a beard, so not entirely sure how I'll recognise him. Hope he doesn't make me go for a bloody walk! 8)
