Excuses, Excuses  No idea TBH, i've never actually inspected that part of the car in any detail, i thought the outer was flush with the rest of the bodywork, so it may very well have a slight curve as youv'e suggested. If there wasn't a curve, would anyone notice?

Went to have a peek on how my new C pillar window was sticking today. Couldn't resist taking the protective card and plastic off, the plastic stuff stuck back on though. Was very difficult to get a decent photo, as the window was very shiny and there is very little room to get a decent angle.

Stuck back on, hence bubbles.

Next side is on the cards this week, and hopefully i'll have a tax rebate soon as we're nearing the end of the financial year. Then I can get her running, and do more exciting things like fluid changes.

I'm starting to worry about the new spheres I put on her, as I replaced all 4 corners whilst not running, i'm worried the spheres will go flat as there is no pressure in the hydraulic system, is this valid worry?

It'll be no different pressure wise to them being sat on the shelf.

Thanks chaps, puts my mind at rest. Regarding the Bristol classic show, it all hangs on the timing and the size of this tax rebate. It'd be safer to say probably not though, sadly. I don't want to rush her onto the road, i'd much rather get all the things done that I want to (and properly at that) which also means i'll end up doing more myself. Even if i'm impatient and want to be driving her NOW!

Still no tax rebate. Also had a very disastrous realisation today, I figured out why the car won't start. The cambelt has snapped at some point between today and last October, I had a picture but the computer won't read this particular memory card for some reason, even though the camera can.

So have I broken my engine? I have heard no nasty noises, when I was turning it over this morning (which now makes me cringe) it just sounded like a normal engine turning over. There have been no crunches/clicks etc. I know these engines aren't cambelt-snap safe, so i'm really quite uspet. Not sure if I could sort it if the engines fubared for the next few years at least, so may have to sell

On another note, after realising cambelt was snapped, I tried the GT's coil and IM on Tim's TRS, it ran but did so very poorly and was misfiring. So either the IM is different in some way (coils were identical) or I got a pair of the wires the wrong way around, which I doubt as I drew a picture of the GT's coil wiring arrangement.

Quite accurate Paul, it's hissing down with rain here. Just running a bath as I got quite cold, dirty and upset. Even bigger bonus, Tim's TRS wouldn't start after swapping it's bits back on, i'm hoping it's just flooded from misfiring with the GT's coil+IM on, it was smelling very petroly.

I'm really sorry to hear that Tom. You can never tell exactly what damage has been done until the head comes off but I'd hope for the best and prepare for the worst. #-o

:( - you may have got away with it as it didn't snap at speed, but as Paul said, there's no way of telling whether anything's got bent until the head's off. Fingers crossed for you.

I don't want to p*** on anyone's back and tell them it's raining or anything, but I had a belt snap in a car park and it still bent . . . everything :(

Way back when I was in the trade, we had a very fortunate few who did get away with breakages. They were very very much in the minority though I'm afraid :(
