Cooking my evening meal - will be coming back here to camp later but for now I am enjoying free wifi in a hotel carpark!

Sacre bleu! Is that France already? Are those French bushes in the background? Good to see you've got your Quality Street onboard - that's a square meal in itself a box of them!

Quality Street tin sadly only contains my electrical tool kit....couldn't find any wine for sale (everywhere was shut) so will shortly be tucking into my emergency whisky supply!

Spent most of the evening chatting to Mike E and Jaba in a layby after walking through the drive-in McDonalds - now that's really living!

Ah, the famous French cuisine..

If you do fancy another burger, drive past the McDonalds and stop at the Buffalo Grill. They're big white & red ranch type buildings and do some seriously yummy grub for not very much at all. Look out for the special combo menus if you want a real bargain. My favourite is the Charolais Burger. You will have to put up with the 70's red velvet steakhouse decor but it's a small price to pay!

No bar of soap there, that's a pan scrub. He's traveling light and only away for a week so doesn't need any soap.

It's a classic dual-purpose bit of field kit - Scouring side for mess tins and sponge side for removing make-up and if you get really grubby, you can always turn it over and use the rough side.

Fab, thanks, I do have mucho sensitive skin. Hairspray makes all my face go red for hours (as I discovered one night out to my embarrassment). Foundation gives me spots too...
