'Tis indeed G-SEG in background. It's actually moved around the corner of the unit now awaiting carpet removal to donate to the GT.

It could be repaired, but it would be an obscene amount of time needed. What it needs is someone to go back in time Tim, catch you at the till buying all your polishing products and say "hold on, leave those there, you've got more important things to start looking at!"

If I was God I'd be too busy giving AIDS to babies in Africa to even think about fixing an old Citroen! #-o

If its not broken (or I didnt think it was) then why fix it, plus I am not a mechanic and dont have access to a ramp.

Ah right, ok. Well anyway, that's why G-SEG is like it is. It has a lot of rot and none of it has been treated at any point in the past. The engine's not in good health, and though the interior is (or was) in good shape and it looked nice, the looks were only skin deep.

If the rot was just in one or two places, I probably would have had a go, but I'd feel shit trying to sell a car for good money that I know is going to cause the future owner headaches. Because even if I sorted all the current issues, there are plenty more that I keep finding waiting to pop out. It'll never be a good car, and compared with BAH it's half a 16v. In fact, G-VOT has been here for a couple of weeks and that's a rolling project if ever I saw one, yet it blitzes G-SEG for condition throughout.

Which is the problem....G-SEG looked lovely (really am a fan of the colour) and body condition was pretty good (aside from the dodgey paint job) but the overall condition is rubbish, sadly. It's a shame, because I was dead set on getting it right.

Is it worth keeping hold of, just incase valver values double overnight? If a good valver was worth £5k, would it be worth getting repaired?

It would be much more realistic, but valver values aren't going to jump that dramatically. Its just about survival of the fittest really. The spares will go a long way towards helping BAH in the future.

And then there's the issue with space, and enough free time to work on it. You're looking as much welding as you can imagine for a BX and then there's the fact the engine's gutless and the fact I already have a much better 16v.

Are you still thinking about selling it? If so how much? I can finally finance it ;) For the right price of course. And assuming it comes with THE bolt ;)

But seriously i am after an engine!

Problem is mate, in it's current state it's not worth anything, so it's more valuable to me to keep it as a spare, if that makes sense?

You can't have that bolt, but when I finally get a chance to work on the damn thing (possibly somewhen in 2018) I'll get some measurements for you
