I've probably missed something here, but what sort of facilities have we got? Any cover? Electricity? I may get bold and do a cambelt on the Mk2 but then again I might not...

I'm aiming to turn up on the Saturday and will probably stop the night.

We've got the sports field or the carpark to do the work in depending on how soft the ground is. if it's been reasonably dry I'd prefer we use the field as it's out of sight of passers by and minor oil spills won't show up. We can run extension leads from the hall onto the field to use power tools during the day if needs be.

The hall has loos and showers that we can use and I'll put some tables and chairs in there for the evening/ hiding from the rain. We'll need to either be in there or the pub once it gets late on so we don't disturb the locals.

Sorry but I don't have anywhere covered to work on the cars if it does rain, if I did the missis would rarely see me ;)

Wanting food, very much!

Plan to be there Saturday late morning to Sunday afternoon, started a list of jobs I want to do on the Astra, it's good because I probably wouldn't have got round to doing them until it comes off the road next year if not for this weekend. Pub also sounds good :)

Ok for camping?

If vege food is still available then please may I change my mind and have some. I will arrive Friday evening and leave Saturday night because I have to be at work Sunday morning at about 8 I think. Do we have any ideas of what we hope to learn while we are there (apart from swear words)? Should we newby people bring any tools or just our cars? Is it worth having a think about things that need doing?

My tool set is pretty basic, but will bring it anyway as it has a selection of spanners, sockets and screwdrivers at least.

Judging by the last few days, looks like I'm teaching the swearing

I won't mind losing the swearing competition as long as I learn something: I need some really good new words because I have recently been very sad about the old ones being inadequate for required effect :(

The TZD will be due an oil change and how hard are handbrake and brake flexis to do? I would also like to give the suspension system a jolly good seeing to (oo-er), will bring plenty of the green stuff of course, but do I need petrol or something to clean filters and such?

Handbrake cables are pretty easy. bring an oil filter and do you have an oil catch tank? I'll try to remember mine (which is just an old 5l oil bottle with hole in the side). I've not done brake flexis. I'll try and remember my sump plug tool but it'd be good if someone else remembered as well just in case!

Tim - I can't imagine there'll be much going on during the Sunday, but we would have a drive out somewhere once all our cars are in lovely, working order. If enough folks are stopping over, I'll be brave and pack the tent.
