Colour wise they aren't going to be a straight match to others as when I took them in I spent a fair bit of time looking at all the shades of grey they did as they had five or six alloys and each spoke had a different shade on so you could pick one, I went for anthracite over a black base to give it a darker look. I'll take a couple of pictures once I've got them home to try and show the colour a bit better.

My only fear is that living in Luton, Im going to wake up one day and find my car on bricks

How are your ones on the TGD standing up Paul ? Luckily I work in a pharmacy so I have access to all sorts of goodies should I kerb them haha

Took them to a company called Mint Alloys, Wrest Park, Silsoe, MK45 4HS, http://www.mintalloys.co.uk chap there is called Andy, I'll post up what each wheel cost later as well to give you a ball park figure.

They are very very nice, the colour is lovely, looks like a deep mteallic shien and will suit the aubergine perfectly. Can't wait for on pictures, although i'd be temtped to mount them on the wall rather than put them ont he car!

Right, just got them home, cost was £60 a wheel with diamond cut which came to £240 before VAT but it would have been about £10-£15 cheaper per wheel if I hadn't had the lip cut but the finish is great on them plus you can ask to have tyres left off or re-fitted.

Put in one of the centre caps to show the colour difference.

Image

What I'll probably do is remove the Citroen badges as they are badly worn and paint the caps to match the wheels as close as possible.

There is a bit of corrosion on one or two of the lips which they tried to cut out but it went to deep so the left it, which is fair enough, at the end of the day they are 20 years old wheels at their youngest now.

Image

And this is just to show how the finish was put over a black base

Image

So they now join the long list of things to fit to the car

Centre cap badges? No [-X. The centre caps want painting the same colour as the wheels don't they?

I for one quite like the centre cap badge, though I agree the paint could do with matching properly to the rest of the wheel.

Did they leave the factory with 'centre cap badges'? No. They didn't. So lets not have any more tiresome flim flam about 'ooo I quite like 'centre cap badges'! :D :D

In the end Andrew its just personal preference - 'your car, your rules'. I'm just a dull old 'like it is in the brochure' Nazi!

Yes, we've got your number Mike and we're comin' to get you!

@ Mark. And we don't take too kindly to 'stickers' on cars either, so if you'd like to avoid a knock on the door in the middle of the night, you might want to re-think your position on 'stickers'!

I quite like the chevron badges as well, but not when they look tatty, I think painting the caps to match the wheels is a good call :)

You mean Paul 'and what's wrong with painted bumpers and illuminated window switches on a 17TGD?' 296? We had to nail his head to a coffee table until he recants. [-X ( :D )

It's just as well this is a BX forum, otherwise I'd have to delete all mention of the Series 1 from my postings!

Shame that the corrosion couldn't have been dug out, is there any solution to that problem? Centre caps deffo need to be painted the same colour as the wheels, i'm surprised you didn't get them done at the same time. They do look ace though, puts all of my sets t shame, especially my winter set which shall we say look absolutely appalling, haha...
