I have finally managed to get the Thursday and Friday off, so I can man the stand or run people about on the 15th + 16th if required, otherwise i'll just check out all the pretty cars and chat BX's! Anyone know any local cheap accommodation? And anybody up for a pub session on the Thurs night? Could potentially be around on the Saturday too, depending on accommodation costs and who will be about!

How much are tickets?

Edit: just read the whole thread, is that offer for floor space still valid Tim?

PM sent to Ian a couple days ago, but just so everyone else knows as well - I shall be there for the whole thing.

You're hired Tom. Don't think we'll need you on the Thursday as that's just set-up, and we've not got that much to set-up! Friday would be useful though. You'll get plenty of time for looking at other stuff.

Cool, what happens with parking? And what time would you like me where?

Would be ace to have a pub session on Thursday night if people are up for it, getting excited now! I've been to the NEC before, but it was for garden center stuff that they do annually on, as it thrillingly turns out, my birthday (17th September). I'm always amazed at how big the place is.

Oh yes. I think a gathering in a drinking establishment probably needs to happen.

I have a limited number of parking passes so we need to ponder logistics. I've got some head scratching to do!

I believe I'm designated taxi for Messrs Smith and Leech as their cars will be remaining at the NEC, which leaves one space for whoever needs it? - suggest Tom as we're all crashing at Tim's.

You do that head scratching Ian, and let me know what you're planning.

Hooray, I shall bring inflatable mattress and sleeping bag! Shall I bring anything else?

I think it might make sense for you to head straight to Tim's if that's ok Tom. I've got enough 'build up' passes for two per car on stand, so if you trek down with Tim and Mark, I think that's four of you in two cars?

4 in 3 cars or it's a long walk back to Tim's - that's still only one car parking pass needed for the party* by my reckoning if there's one going please :)

Ian, have you got the stand covered now ? I am thinking of coming up on Friday or Saturday so can help out if needed.

This was prompted by seeing, while sitting in a Brasserie in Paris when I was there a couple of weeks back, a classic car from the 60s of the AC Aceca variety. It still looks a beautiful car and is the first one I have ever seen on the road and was the last thing I expect to see in central Paris - oh la la.
So hence the visit to the NEC to check a few more classics out.

Thanks Sandre. Don't think you'll need a parking pass on the Thursday but I'll have them with me just in case (I'll be parking out there somewhere myself).

Jaba - I'll have a count-up of folk but we should be ok I think.

Ian, I am getting confused! I offered one possibly two tables now Tim L has offered another. How many do I bring?
To remove any doubts table(s) apart I am bringing:
Me, the car, two camping chairs, at least one table, red, white, blue catering table cloth paper, 30th Birthday Cake with logo, 2 x bottles Fizzy Stuff, paper plates, paper napkins, disposable glasses.
Can I suggest we agree without a month of cackling about it to cut the cake and have the fizzy at 1600 on SATURDAY inviting Chairman of CCC, TOC 2CV GB to join that day's BX Club team AND suitable deserving lurking miscreants....
As we have more than one thread running I shall put this on the other main one as well!

Previously owned include 1983 BX14RE Leader, Porsche 924, 1972 Porsche 911T, 1973 Porsche Carrera RS 2.7 (FIA Group 4), 1974 Porsche Carrera RS 3.0 (FIA Group 4 ex Le Mans), 1969 911 T/R (FIA Group 3 ex Le Mans), 1981 Porsche Group B 3.3 litre World Endurance Championship, 1991 Footwork Arrows Porsche Formula 1 (ex Alboreto & Caffi),

OK Ian I see I am now on the Saturday roster.
I like the idea of a toast at 1600. Shall I bring some extra flagons to top up Birotor's ???
